  1. Could be a wheel bearing, does it change with vehicle speed?
  2. I had a noise very similar to this and thought it was coming from the A/C compressor....removed the belt and the noise was still there...... it turned out to be the oil separator.
  3. It sounds like something has failed in the clutch/pressure plate area. Best get it towed into the dealer or good indie.
  4. Sounds like the intermediate shaft has failed.... not good news at all.
  5. Welcome..... sorry I don't have any info on the mirrors.
  6. Sorry not sure what year it was issued..... just remember reading about it.
  7. Sounds like the oil seperator, the part has been updated alond with the "J" tube. Notice any white smoke from the exhaust?
  8. Could you please post the codes? Countless things will cause the check engine to come on.
  9. Porsche had a updated fuel cap..... best give that a try first.
  10. I know of a few hard top users and they have never had any damage. Could you post any pics of the damage??
  11. All I'm saying is every manufacturer has some kind of fault with their product.... Porsche is no different from GM,Ford,Toyota or anyone else. You take the good with the bad. Best of luck in the lawsuit.
  12. Well I'll buy your POS Porsche for 10 bucks..... if you think Porsche has problems with engines and such, you should pay attention to GM. Some GM engines(V6) have a 96% failure rate on intake gaskets... and that is GM numbers.... you going to sue them also?? Maybe a bus pass is the way forward.....??
  13. Glad it was an easy fix and it's always good to hear back if the problem was solved.
  14. Sounds like the wiper motor might have what's called a dead spot on the rotor commutator. Might be time to shop around for a replacement motor or take your old one apart and get the brushed checked and clean the commutators bars.
  15. The cooling system will be under pressure after a drive. Did you happen to notice the reading on the temp gauge?
  16. I was only kidding about them being drainage holes for the RMS..... I really don't think they serve any purpose. Don't spray anything into the holes, you could contaminate the clutch.
  17. I thought that auto climate control was standard equipment on US cars..... from what I remember it was only a option in Europe. Sorry but no idea if it can be retro fitted after the fact.
  18. They are drainage holes for the RMS.
  19. Has the oil seperator ever been replaced? The part has been updated a few times and can cause both problems.
  20. How badly did you damage the threaded fitting?? I've had success repairing damage using a thread file, the one I own has common thread pitches in both standard and metric on one tool.
  21. I would have to say that the brng in the pulley assembly has failed, it's overheating and melting out the resin from the clutch windings. I beleive you need special tools to replace the brng.
  22. You'll have to remove the belt and spin each of the pulleys/idlers/tensioners to see if the A/C is the problem or just the belt dust accumulating on that pulley. The A/C has two parts..... the actual brng assembly for the belt pulley and the drive for compressor.
  23. I don't know alot about the MFI systems but can lend some advice learned over the years in regards to the ignition system. You say that the ignition box has been replaced and my advice is to always replace the ignition coil at the same time. The coil is often over looked and the root cause of damage to the control module. Hope you get it sorted soon and please keep us posted.
  24. The fuel pressure at rest would be the first thing to check. Any mods been done to the car over the years as far as fuel/ignition system is concerned?
  25. I think there is a micro switch in the outer door handle that causes the window to drop when opening the door..... this might be something to look into.
