  1. I want to see if my car performance and drive ability issues with my upgrades and evom tune will improve if I reset the ecu in my 04 cayenne tt. I have read that people mention about unplugging the battery for 10 minutes but can I just disconnect the dme from the car to do the same thing? I would like to reset the adaptation which is my goal.
  2. I actual just made some progress with my problem but hoping for some imput from the forum. Has anyone ever had to replace their throttle body or boost sensor on a cayenne turbo. I just recently cleaned the throttle body and noticed a dramatic improvement in the problem. I also did the throttle adaptation after cleaning. My issue is coming back again and I tried the throttle adaptation again which gives me some improvement. I did notice when cleaning the throttle body that its resting position was not perfectly at 90 degrees and it had a very slight angle to it. Could my throttle body need to be replaced or do they all have a very subtle angle at its resting position. My other question is if a bad boost sensor could cause these problems and I also cleaned that as well. Thanks. Martin
  3. I have already replaced all my coils and plugs with the most updated ones. I am going to try and clean the throttle body to see if that helps. I have no codes on durametric.
  4. I have a 2004 turbo and was wondering if anyone could describe what a throttle body issue would present itself with. I am getting issues with accerleration in low rpms (2000-3500) with greater than about 30-40% throttle and when it reaches higher rpms, no problem. My idle is fine. Could it be a dirty throttle body. I have an EVOM tune and I notice that the boost comes on pretty quick at low rpms and I am wondering if the surging and stuttering I am getting a low rpms is related to boost coming on too quick. Could I see this issue with a bad boost pressure sensor? I am unfortunately not getting any CEL's. Given our vehicles have two sets of everything (turbo, intake, diverter) is it ever possible to determine if one turbo for instance is failing. Are the CEL codes specific for side if they come up or is there no way to tell, for instance if one of my diverter valves is not working properly causing the two turbos to respond differently. Thanks.
  5. No i did not. Is it safe to unplug the MAF to test them or do you know what the values would be with durametric if I checked it that way.
  6. I have a 2004 cayenne turbo with EVO intake, Evom tune, 2nd cat bypass, ipd plenum. I have been dealing with what seems to be timing getting pulled and surging in the mid RPM range. I am not getting any CEL codes and I am trying to narrow down if I am getting a fuel pressure issue or an intake leak. I know in other Porsche models, people will disconnect the MAF's to test if this is the problem. Can I disconnect both my MAF's to see if things smooth out under 1/2 throttle or WOT. Will it just put the vehicle in a safe base tune. I am not sure if having the EVOM tune software would affect this? My idling is fine. I have already changed all of coils and spark plugs. Thanks. Martin
  7. I am hoping someone can help me narrow down my surging problem after getting an EVOM tune on my 2004 cayenne turbo. Car has 60k on it and coolant pipes have been replaced. This is what has been installed. EVOM intake, EVOM diverter valves, IPD plenum, leistung bypass pipes and EVOM tune which brings me to almost 600hp. In the process of trying to fix the issue, I have replaced the fuel filter, fixed various EVAP issues prior to the tune, replaced all the spark plugs and coils with newest OEM. My issues with the OEM spark plugs was getting surging almost at any time putting more than 50% throttle. Decided to change out to NGK iridium IX BKR6EIX plugs and narrowed the gap to about .025. Symptoms dramatically improved and now only issues around mid rpm range. Decided to go with a colder plug and used NGK iridium BKR7EIX plugs and get the gap as they came which is about .028 or so and symptoms are slightly better. On the first couple runs after I had put either of the NGK plugs in, no problems at all and it pulled hard. After the car warmed it, is when the surging began. Now it seems pretty consistent around the 3500-5000 range when ever I try to give it 2/3 to full throttle. The first drive with the car before it warms up seems much better and symptoms get worse as car is warmed up. I am not having any issues with idle or normal driving. I don't think it is a fuel system issue because wouldn't I see idle issues or other normal driving issues. Do I need to go even colder with the plugs or should I be looking for something else. On my durametric, no codes come up either throughout this entire process of changing spark plugs.
  8. The gap on the NGK spark plugs is .032. I have read some posts about decreasing the gap to .025 for tuned porsches. Does anyone have an opinion on gapping for a tuned cayenne. Would going one heat range colder be enough or should I also decrease the gap. I would be interested if anyone has a EVOM tune and did adjustments in the spark plugs.
  9. hahnmgh63, I have been using BKR6EIX which I thought is heat range 6, and the same heat range as stock beru. I was going to switch to BKR7EIX which is heat range 7 and one step colder than stock, or am I wrong? Maybe that is my problem
  10. Unfortunately I will like to add that my pinging problems are coming back after 2 days of improved driving. After starting the car the first run seems fine but when the engine warms up it gets worse. Should I try one heat range colder plug as I have read that is recommended with a tune.
  11. Well, I ended up changing out all my spark plugs and putting in NGK iridium IX, along with making the gap smaller and all my problems went away. It appears that the OEM plugs do not work well with ECU tunes.
  12. I have come across a couple posts with people having similar problems as me and have went with NGk iridium Ix spark plugs which come with a gap of .32 but changed it to .25 and have great results on chipped cayennes. I am going with that option to see if it fixes my surging issue.
  13. I have a 04 cayenne turbo with 60k that I got an econ tune and have been issues which I thought were initially pinging or surges but think might be a clutch issue. I allready sorted out my initial ignition issues but replaced all coils and spark plugs, New fuel filter and various evap parts. Now what I notice is around 3000-4000k mainly I get what seems like studdering and loss of power which improves somewhat in higher rpms. I have had 3 episodes of clear slipping and the rpms jumping up. Sometimes I am lucky and get smooth accerleration but it can happen even with only 50 percent throttle. Could the studdering be the clutch almost slipping and grabbing as the power drops in higher rpms. I have no codes being thrown. Any advice on how to figure this problem. I have a durametric if I can check something with it.
  14. I have not measured them because I was under the assumption that they can properly pregapped as I have read that multi prong spark plugs cannot be changed. They are Beru.
  15. My new OEM spark plugs have 4 prongs. I have read that the gap cannot be changed on spark plugs with multiple prongs.
  16. Do the OEM spark plugs come correctly gapped for a 2004 cayenne turbo. I am getting some surging (my car does have an EVOM tune) but I came across someone mentioning that the spark plugs need to have the gaps adjusted?
  17. I have been having surging issues similar to you. I have replaced all of the coils and spark plugs with OEM porsche. My vehicle though has EVOMSit ECU tune so I don't know if there is a way to tell if it is the tune causing the vehicle to surg or maybe the gap on my spark plugs is wrong. I thought that the OEM spark plugs come with the appropriate gap. Should I check my spark plugs and change the gap since I am running a tune?
  18. Hello Everyone, Would someone happen to have the wiring diagram for the different color wires for the connector in the back of the headlights on a 955 cayenne turbo with xenons. I am trying to install some LED's by pulling power from the harness but need to figure out which wire is going to turn signal, high, low etc. Thanks. Martin
  19. Loren, what is the part number is the item that you listed the price for.
  20. that is my dealership and that is what they quoted me. It sounds like i should challenge that quote.
  21. One thing I am going to do is clean the MAF's with CRC cleaner and see if this helps. I am also going to run durametric logs to check the MAF voltage to see if the MAF's are functioning properly. Does anyone happen to know what normal voltages are for cayenne turbo MAF's. Thanks.
  22. The porsche dealer said that I needed part number 7 on the diagram above to fix the problem and they quoted me 650 for the part. Does that sound right.
  23. Unfortunately now the car has the p2189 and p2187 codes popping up again but not other codes to go with it. I guess I still need to look for a vacumn leak but could all my problems such as detonation and rough driving under WOT along with the codes be related to a fuel system problem such as a bad filter or failing pump. I guess I may have to also have the fuel system pressure tested. Any other suggestions.
  24. I am starting to get some detonation issues, mainly in the mid RPM's and especially under WOT. I only have 92 octane in my area and I am wondering if my EVOM tune is too aggressive. Does anyone have experience with octane boosters and should I try one to see what happens.
