  1. +1 ...These are just covers....Cautions...Just place them carefully again and again......Then drill Take your time...Remove the rubber pads (OEM)....If you can clamp in place...great. Mark, drill, and install bolts...Pretty straight forward. Goos luck! DC
  2. Looks nice! Can't tell from your photo , but if you do not have stone guards behind the doors get them quick. It is amazing how much S%$^$ gets thrown up there and how quickly it gets nicked up ( I am talking weeks!). Good luck and enjoy. DC
  3. You are replacing horns? Are you needing to remove the bumper cover or the spoiler? There are several articles here and on rennlist and 6speed that cover bumper cover removal. Not sure of any that just have the spoiler removal? Good luck. DC
  4. That is how it is supposed to operate. If you arm it and leave it for a period of time, you must use the key to open the car. After normal use, this is reset and will work as normal. No issues...Just how it was designed to work. Good luck. DC
  5. Hi there, My wife used to have a Boxster ( like in 1999 I think). I got this wing already painted on eBay and it was good quality and matched perfectly. I thought it made the rear look nicer. Here are a couple of photos for you. I know there are other styles too. DC
  6. HI, Don't have any Boxsters, but I have attached several diagrams from the PET Catalog that you can at least see how the seat is constructed. Hope that helps. DC
  7. Modavi, Yes, it is pretty easy to remove these. A little heat and patience and you can remove it. On my 997 TT the dealer had installed the clear bra and I thought the line across the hood looked like crap, so I had them remove the entire bra etc.. Then realized that they missed a piece. I used a heat gun on low, but a hair dryer would suffice. I peeled it slowly, then washed and waxed it....Can't tell it was ever there. Color really should not matter, but mine is the same color as yours...... Good luck! DC
  8. Thanks CD for the reply, much appreciated. I was looking for a switched on with the ignition 12V, that thread is about an unswitched permanent 12V but the diagram is useful. Thanks Right...I realize that. But if you read Loren's statement in that post " Other than the horns or headlights most everything else up front is switched." I think you still get your answer.... Good luck. DC
  9. What is the VIN you are looking to decode? That will help..... DC
  10. Found this info on Rennlist.com, seems to answer your question for the most part: "option - xd9 rims & caps partial paint ext. color if you run the 3d configurator on pcna's site it shows you a rendering of what the above option is on each model. for most models it's painting all but the outer rim. the turbo get a special semi cgt-like job. " DC
  11. Love the English ..."Witch" is an ugly female with bad hair, a pointy hat, and a big ugly nose that flies around on a broomstick :) "Which" is a question that relates to "what item?", which I think is what you want to know. Last updates in all the Porsche information indicate using 0W40 Mobil 1 Synthetic. That is what I use in my 997 TT. DC
  12. The search feature works great on this site. This has been discussed prior and there is a diagram provided by Loren. Here is a link to a similar article that may meet your need: Link DC
  13. Not sure what you are referring to with "auto-blips"? But Softronic offers ECU flash for 996. Check the link here: Softronic Looks like it adds about 22 HP and about 13 ft. lbs. TQ. DC
  14. No it does not fit(I don't think)...I meant I bought a 997 Twin Turbo ...The whole car....
  15. My solution was a 997 TT I think the ones you enumerated are it. Replacements / or Fixed seem like the only solutions at this time..... DC
  16. There is nothing available from Porsche that I could find. Also have not seen any elsewhere either. You may be able to have a decal made, but short of that I am not aware of any 987 badges. Some folks on eBay make knock-offs sometimes so you may look there as well. DC
  17. Try a search here on this site. This topic and similar ones regarding Turbo wings etc.. has been covered in numerous threads. DC
  18. Might want to heat it and bend the slots IN so you do not change the clearance for the wheel.... DC
  19. Well...Just wanted to be sure you did not overlook anything simple. Wonder if the key may need to be reprogrammed to the car? Do you have a second key to try? DC
  20. Hi, I know you said your key battery is good, but I would check. Also if you leave them sitting for a period of time the remote will not work by design. However, the key should open the door when inserted. Another issue with leaving it to sit, is the car battery dies pretty quickly on these cars. I would: Check for charge and proper polarity on the key battery (or try the other key) If no luck Check the car battery for charge If you can't open the car and/or bonnet search this site as the process for opening with the cable is covered. Good luck! DC
  21. Online in Evenings usually

  22. Hi, There are lots of these cars available and a buyer's market. If you are worried at all I would keep looking. The price seems very high to me, and I had my wife's done at the dealer for much less. As a negotiation tool, you may offer them a little extra $ over what you are offering to pay and ask that it be repaired prior to purchase....Otherwise, I would keep looking. The reason you have the leak or "sweating" is likely due to the low mileage. Seems to happen more frequently to garage queens that are left sitting a lot? Just a theory though. Good luck! DC
  23. To Clarify... Unless I misunderstood....The original poster was asking about potentially putting (drilling) additional holes in the wheel wells for more airflow... Thus my comment "Do not see what it would hurt to add some holes to it??". My point is/was that other P cars do in fact have vent holes (as indicated in the photo), so it would likely not hurt anything. Not sure who was/is recommending buying new wheel wells? Although that would be another more expensive option, if someone chooses to do it and if they fit. DC
  24. Here is what the wheel well of a 997 Twin Turbo looks like. Has the radiators in the same spot, so maybe Porsche decided there was some merit to your idea?? Do not see what it would hurt to add some holes to it?? Good luck.... DC
