  1. Well my 04 CS did not survive a collision and is a total loss. I found a 2006 Turbo S I am interested in. Big difference from the 04 CS. It looks to be in pretty good condition and drives well. Only 59k miles on it. At some point the turbo was upgraded to the EVOLUTION MOTORSPORTS GT650/700 (TURBO S) KIT. Should I be concerned about that? It also will come with a lifetime powertrain warranty, and the coolant pipes are aluminum. Price is under KBB. Anything I should look for besides the usual problems I know about on the 04? Thanks.
  2. Hi. I have a 2004 CS. Long story short a truck tire tread on the freeway hit the front of the car. Right side headlight now has a big hole in it. Insurance is paying for a recycled headlight. I am looking at this pair on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/150981466638?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I looked up the part number on gaudinorsche.com and found the part number 955-631-158-51. Gaudin also listed a part number 955-631-158-31. Now the ebay link has the part number 31 but not 51 as OE numbers. I sent a question to the seller and got the following: No, our lights are slightly different. Yours are Xenon, whereas ours are Bi-xenon. Tho install our lights you will require new xenon ballasts which are not included to this set neither they are on our offer. The gasket is included. The lights come without bulbs. Please check the pictures of the backside of light in our listing. The bottom of it. The lights look exactly as you see them on the pictures. No addition items are included. I am here if you have any further questions or require my assistance. I thought the only options were halogen or bi-xenon. Mine have the corner lights, self leveling, and all that stuff. So will those lights work or am I missing something? Oh and by the way, After the light broke and I had to use them I got error message, several time, for check dipped beam and level adjustment, and only 1 bulb worked. Obviously it got smacked pretty good. But several days later I turn them on and everything works fine. Weird huh. Self healing, or is it a reincarnated Christine? Thanks for any advice you can give. Jeff
  3. The instrument cluster is costly. I think new run around $2500. I have the same problem with mine. When it is cold out it works fine but once it warms up outside it fades. I found a place in Wisconsin who say they can repair them for around $400 but have not spoken to them yet.
  4. I too have this problem on my 04. What I do now is before I lower the seat (which I don't do often) is I buckle the seat belt and then lower the seat. To put the seat back up, unbuckle and lift. No more stuck seat.
  5. I am getting the higher numbers (22-23) driving on I225 and I70 when I work weekends and there is little traffic. And that is driving about 63mph. Gotta watch out for those sneaky speed traps in Aurora.
  6. I drive the Denver metro area and get about 15-18 around the city and 18-23 on the highway depending on traffic and my lead foot.
  7. For #1 go through the menu and you will find a setting to turn the horn chirp on and off.
  8. A common problem on these vehicles is the lower control arm bushings. You may want to take a look at that and the rest of your suspension components.
  9. Ricky, I bought my 04 CS about 6 months ago have put on about 12k miles. It is a great vehicle and will really enjoy it. I bought the Duramatric about a month ago and have used it twice. It showed me why my heated steering wheel is working, but did not help me on a problem I am having with the power window. You will need it if you plan on doing your own oil changes (getting done at the dealer runs around $200) as it is the only way to reset the service light without going to the dealer. I feel no matter how ofen you use it, either daily or a couple of times a year it is worth purchasing. As for the warranty, if it is a good one that actually covers repairs and doesn't exclude most things under "normal wear and tear" items let the dealer do it. If the warranty doesn't cover it, those shop charges add up fast.
  10. Ok, an update to what else I have found. I found the carpet at the bottom by the seat damp (we have had a bit if snow lately) but when I pulled the carpet back I found the floor and padding soaked. I used towels and dried it as much as I could. Squeezing the water out it appeared to have a blue tint, so my question is, does the tube for the rear washer run along that side? I think the water may have worked it's way up the fabric wrapped harness or got into the plastic wire holder on the floor and caused a short. I did a search and found 2 postings about wet carpet and they referred to the AC drain hose (I have not been running the air) or the sunroof drain (possible with the snow melt) but that would not explain the color of the water.
  11. Thanks for the advice on what to start looking for. The door grommets are good and tight. The CS has 90k miles (I have put over 10k miles on in the last 5 months). I pulled the kick panel on the passenger side and do not see the harness from the door. Looks like I will have to start digging deeper or pull the door panel and start there. I will post up what I find or any other questions. Jeff
  12. Ok, since I have asked several questions in the past I guess it is time to become a contributing member and ask another question. A quick recap of what happened. My wife, my brother and myself were going from Colorado to Wyoming. We stop just over the WY border for a quick rest stop and when I come out I find my wife and brother outside of the car (04 CS) with the doors and hood open (not a good thing to see). I get to the car and am told that while they were sitting they heard a pop and a little bit of smoke came out from under the dash on the passenger side. A quick look around didn't show anything obvious but there is now a very annoying clipping or quick tapping sound coming from the front speakers. Since the car didn't go up in flames we continued on our way. That was a few days ago. Also I found that the passenger front window no longer works. I checked and found a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and the speakers popped a little and the fuse blew right away. So I am guessing there is a short somewhere, but what would cause both of those symptoms at the same time? Is there some kind of module behind the dash or stereo that would be tied together? Thanks, Jeff
  13. mwiadro, thanks for the reply and info. Mine would flash multiple times and then go out. And it will sometimes do it while driving. I should have my Durametric on Monday and I will check the system. Hopefully it will be nothing. The car run fine. I was only concerned because of the owners manual states if the light flashes rapidly after start up have it looked at by a Porsche dealer.
  14. Thanks for the reply. I knew it would be a long shot without checking to see if it threw a code. I am going to order a reader. I just need to decide if I need the enthusiast or professional one.
  15. My experiences with vibrations under the car are usually drive shaft related. Actually in the Cayenne I believe it is the cardone (sp?) shaft. I would get under there and see if there seems like excessive play.
