  1. Jim, what are they going to do at the 20K? Oil & Filter Change? Air Filter Change? Brake Fluid Change? What about the clutch fluid, when they do the brakes? Clean out the drain holes for the convertible top? Cabin Filter? How long did your tires last? Michelins? How much do they charge??

  3. Mac, spray the Zaino Z6 on a clean 100% terry cloth towel (small cloth). You don't need much Z6. Wipe on one dial, then buff dry with another clean cloth. Repeat for the second dial. This also works great on the windstop.
  4. I recently cleaned my gauges with a clean soft 100% terry cloth towel and some Zaino Z6 detail spray. Why did you take delivery of a car that was damaged during prep?
  5. Spiro, you need to get into the higher revs too! Paradise at 5,500-6,500 RPM.
  6. I have a 987S Boxster, and have NO issues with my Garmin GPS or toll collection device (IPass).
  7. Toejam, correct, there are no performance gains from the Porsche Sport Exhaust. But, the butt-dyno says it's better!!
  8. Toejam, if you want your car to sound better, get the Porsche Sport Exhaust for your car. I did it, and love it. I have a 2006 987S. You can get the PSE from Phil at Sunset Porsche for about $1,850. Take it to your dealership, and they will do the install for big $$. You will have a warranty, NO CEL's and great sound. And NO resonance. Have the dealership do the install without the ON/OFF switch (linked to your 'Sport' mode if you have Sport Chrono). This will be cheaper (faster) and the muffler will always be in Sport mode (louder setting). FabSpeed stuff sucks! Nots of resonance and many CEL. Plus, their mufflers hang below the bumper on the 987. Looks like crap IMHO.
  9. Can you get Michelin PS2's in your part of the World? They are a great tire and Porsche approved.
  10. IMHO, get a Garmin Nuvi 680. They are awesome! I just suction-cup it to the dial of my Sport Chrono! They cost about $650. And you can put it in other cars, or take on business & vacations. Just a thought.
  11. You can find a lot of Aluminum-look interior parts at www.suncoastporsche.com. They have an online parts department.
  12. I live in Canada, and my dealer does'nt know about TSB ENU1726.Is there a different TSB name for Canadian cars. This noise is really annoying. Where could I find a copy of TSB ENU1726 ? 2005 Boxster 2.7 L Send Loren a check for about $25 (USD) and become a "Contributing Member". You will then gain access to all the TSB's. Well worth the investment and the right thing to do to support this great Forum.

  14. If you are taking delivery in January, I would bet they are shipping the car in December, which then means they build the car in November. This would be a rough estimate on the timing, and follows the process for my 2006 987S. I took delivery in March of 2006. The car was shipped in February, with a January build date.

  16. Hi Jonesy, I did the first oil change at about 1,200 miles, then again at 7,500. I'll do it every year, just before winter storage, or at 7,500 miles. The oil just does not last 20,000 miles. Maybe 10-12,000 tops. I think the dealership and Porsche say the 20,000 miles to make the car "appear" to have a lower yearly maintenance cost, to compete with other marque brands in the marketplace. An oil change is very cheap insurance. I don't think you need to change the oil every 3-5,000 miles...that's overkill, wasteful, and test have shown to actually increase wear & tear.
  17. Drfous, you can look on our site and see the TSB list for the 987, since you are a Contributing Member. Have the dealer address any that are relevent. They should be checking anyways. How many miles do you have? I hope you did not wait 20,000 miles for your first oil change. You should change the oil every year or by 7,500 miles is best/ideal. I would not go over 10,000 miles between oil changes. IMHO. FYI. You should delete you VIN number on this post for security reasons.

  19. Imritter, the rev-limiter does NOT protect you on a down-shift. So, if you miss a gear, you could do damage. Also, the DME records all redline activity and near redline activity. Porsche can read this data, and possibly use it to prove you have miss-treated the car, and even deny a warranty claim.
