Odyssey Battery in my 996

I recently installed an Odyssey small Gel Cell battery, these batteries are high quality and built to Mil spec's.

They can be adapted relatively easy by using an (.250) Aluminum plate and drilling holes for a hold down strap and mounting bolt hole from stock porsche config.

The cost of the Odyssey Model 925 MJT cost around $140 not counting the mounting hardware I purchased locally. These batteries have a design life of 8-12 years and come with a 3 year warranty from the Manufacture.

My stock battery was getting weaker and weaker, And my car would sometime fail to start on the first or second try. Now my car starts quickly since the 925 MJT has 925 Cold cranking Amps CCA. If a person is going to run lots of electronics they recommend the Model 1200 which is only a bit bigger but smaller then the stock porsche battery,

I used he 925 as well, pleanty big enough. I don't think these guys are gell but actually a dry cell, no vents of any sort and are shipped differently than the wet or gell bats.

Also moved mine to the floor of the front compartment, lowered the weight location by 1 to 2 ft.

Very nice. I plan to get one too when it is time. I did an Optima on my last car, but Odyssey takes it one step further.

Any estimate on how much weight loss with the switch from standard to the dry cell batter?
