Taking road trip w/ airbag light on?

Recommended Posts

Been several days with a fault and had no resultant consequence. The SRS system is totally disabled mind, so it would be best to book it in when next convenient.

Not true from my findings/reading. You have no idea what that code is related to without running a PST2 or Durametric against it. It could be the common and simple drivers side seat belt contacts triggering the SRS light which has no affect on airbad deployment.

And to answer the initial question it has no ill affect on the rest of the vehicle nor the SRS system. Drive it forever if you must. I'm sure you'll find the seat belt contact culprit the most likly supsect. Check the TSB related to it.

Hmm, admittedly my experience is with the 987. The tech's at the OPC made it clear that the system will default off if a fault is detected so i guess this is a change from the previous generation.

Thanks for all the info & suggestions. I also heard from others that the airbag will operate with the light on. I will check on the TSB regarding the belt buckle, thanks again & happy boxstering!!!!
