Turbo Front Bumper

Recommended Posts

hiya

I was told by a local porsche independent specialist:

You can fit a 996 Turbo front bumper to a 996 C2/C4 year 2003 - 2005 (or the facelift model). You will have to modify the front air ducts and a few other bits and pieces. You can fit it to an earlier 996 but it gets more complicated with change of wings, lights, etc.

Did you mean a 2002 C4S?

I'm pretty sure the 2002 C4S and the 996 Turbo share the same front bumper, as well as many other parts.

The only visual difference is the plastic lip on the base of the frot bumper.

In fact, if I understand what I read correctly, the C4S and the 996 Turbo share the same body,

except for the side air vents and the rear wing.

  • 10 months later...

Hiya All,

I have just got my 996 C2 Cab, and have just had the bodyshop put on a C4S (not TT) front bumper..and it Does NOT fit right.

1) Are the TT bumpers exactly the same fit as the C4S bumpers ? (im not so sure)

Can anyone help, as I have massive gaps under my lights (its like the bumper is too far forward),....also the bumper seems to be raised all the way along the bonnet join (its like it is too high or a different shape)

BUT the side panel/bumper-cover joins seem to be good...

Please any help...as the job looks really bad at the moment...

Thanks, Michal

thnx 4 speedy reply Loren,

To be honest I dont know, as I never saw it with the bumper off.

But if you mean (bumper re-enforcement = the metal impact bar behind the C4S bumper cover)...then they did not change it, as it did not really get in the way...i think....(still C2)

All I know is they did'nt change anything else apart from the C4S bumper I gave them.

I really dont want to, BUT I have got a funny feeling that I'm gonna have to try and take the bumper off myself, and have a look. I am hoping they bodged the fitment...and that I can correct it !
