Porsche dealer says that Porsche recommends five (5) V-rated (?) tires for 997.

Which one is the most quiet?

Thanks

go to tirerack.com. check "survey results" and "test results" under any that fit and they will list and compare all including noise. I'm in the minority but I prefer continentals over michelins.

I decided to try the same brand I used while I was autocrossing my previous car back in the day. About 2 months ago, I slapped on some Falken Azenis RT-615's on my 996. Great ride, stellar grip, decent treadwear (280). The old Pirelli's on it were so noisy. Falken is great for the price, Z-rated, and are reinforced. They also have a "rim protector" built into all their tires where the inner contour extends a little further. I definitely don't regret my purchase. Has anyone else tried these?

Bridgestone also offer N rated tyres for the Porsche as well as Michelin and Pirelli. The N rating is an additional spec reccommended by porsche for fittment to their cars. I have michelins on my 987, and a 997 targa i drove recently had the bridgestone items. Have to say considering the additional tyre width on the 997 the bridgestones did seem a very quiet tyre.

Interesting, I thought I was the only one. I always prefered the continentals over the michelins on my M3. I just felt like I was more in tune with where they were about to break traction and I had a much easier time maintaining a controled drift when the rear would step out. I have the michelins on my new 997. Only 250 miles so far so I havent really formed an oppinion yet but when it comes time to order new tires I'll probably try the contis because I liked them so much on the M3.
