cd changer installation

Recommended Posts

I installed a changer into my 2007 Porsche Cayenne S, but can't get it to work. I connected the two prewire cable in the trunk to the changer already. I think one of the plug is the power harness and the other is the fiber optic. The changer do check the cd when i power up the stereo but i can't control it on the radio. Can't seem to get it into cd changer mode. The dealer said i need to activate it. Any suggestion help.

First there are 2 plugs, they may take a bit of finding, 1 is a narrow black edge connector, this is the power. The second contains 2 orange leads, actually fibre optic cables, in from the front and out to the BOSE amp. Its going to have a loopback connector on it as the MOST loop is serial and without it the BOSE system will not work. This needs to be removed and plugged into the matching female on the CDC.

Once connected with the light heading in the right direction the next time the car is started (or the door is opened) the MOST system will boot and the head unit will see the changer and just work, no PIWIS is needed.

Sorry Loren I have been playing as you know hahahah

Mike

You can't just plug it in and have it work.

Once all the correct cables are connected you have to hook up a PIWIS tester and "turn on" the new device(s).

From 05 I think they made it plug and play, I know of 3 or 4 cases where installs have been done.

By the way I have a working CDC for sale if anyone wants to make me an offer.

Perhaps the CD Changer was already turned on in your car? Or perhaps they are turning them all on now?

The TSB instructions clearly state to "Program the CD Changer" and verify that it is in the MOST option list.

Hi,

Do you think yours will work on a 2008 Cayenne S?

I might be interested in it.

Brgds,

D
