New Car, small problem

Recommended Posts

I just got a 1999 C4 cab, this forum was really helpful in deciding the quirks the car had would be fixable and worth the trouble. So far I've got the reverse position switch an oil change and topping off coolant (hopefully, some of the stories here made me nervous) on my list. I do have one weird problem, the engine bay open light comes on when the car is first started but eventually goes off. I searched but couldn't find anything about this. Is this a big problem or something I can adjust myself?

I would start by checking the microswitch on the engine cover latch.

Thanks I will have a look this weekend. I have power seats w/o a lumbar control, is there any way to lessen the amount of lumbar support, it is tough to get my upper back against the seat comfortably

Just checking...

Is it this light?

Or this one?

The first is the spoiler light. It is normal for it to be on until the car actually moves.

It is light #1, out of curiosity why is that light normally on?
