The speed and reverse signal are transmitted via the can bus to the CDR23 (C1 and C2). You would need a special adaptor to get the signals out of this (Dietz 61010). But you can get the signals directly from the cluster. You can find also terminal 86s there, that I prefer to terminal 15 (radio turns off after removing the key and not after turning off the ignition/engine).

I purchased the full set of shop manuals from Sunset (only $200 for Renntech members) and found the signals in the master wiring diagrams for my '03. Luckily the signals are readily available from the existing harness in addition to the CAN bus signals. Here is the complete wiring spec for custom stereo install. I will post a DIY shortly on my complete procedure.

Hi, I need to come back to the above 2002 Bose wiring diagram!

I am not sure, if the plug 1 is shown from the harness side or from the amplifier side. Plug 2 I can recognize, because of the asymmetric shape (shown from amp side).

I would expect the same for plug 1, but then the letters on the diamgram do not match with those on the socket. Can anybody confirm, where (especially) terminals 30 and 31 run to, please!

Terminal 30 is always unswitched power (+12 volts)

Terminal 31 is always ground

I found that the wiring pin numbers on the wiring schematic are shown as they are physically on the unit. From looking at the wiring schematic you can figure out which is left and which is right hand side since the plugs do have numbers on the terminals.

Do you by any chance also have the wiring diagram for a PCM 2.1 with MOST fiber optic Bose?

Is the VSS wire, Speed sensor, wire in this plug or does the unit get this signal from MOST?

I have a 2004 Turbo Cab.

I bought a Pioneer F900 Nav and will be installing it once I figured out all the wiring.

I remember from my XM modulator install that there are several plugs into the PCM. I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel for all the wires I need.

In the 997 the VSS can be taken from the ABS computer in the trunk. Is there a better way for a 996?
