Auto Headlight Sensor

Recommended Posts

OK fellas, it's been a few months since I've done any modification to my "Baby Kathy"

I'm constantly thinking to upgrade/modify my 986S,,,As usual I need all U member's input & will be greatly appreciated!

Thinking about throwing a AUTO HEADLIGHT SENSOR -

General Information:

· When the environment starts getting darker, the system will turn your low beam headlights on. Vice versa when environment lights up.

· In the day time when you drive into a underpass, subway or any dark environment, system will quickly (0.25 milli seconds) turn your park and low beam headlights on.

· At night or in any dark environment when you turn your engine off, it will keep your park and low beam headlights on for 25 seconds as follow me function in order to guide you in the dark

. in the dark your headlights will be on when you unlock your doors from remote

Is this hack worth it or not?

It's approx. what the Cayenne original option does, i think it's worth it, if your government not enter into an obligation to have day running lights in the next couple of months.

The parking lights on while moving bothers me. It is illegal in some states. Why would anyone want to look like a parked car?

I do it in my -6, but with the fogs on. Technically not legal here. But I hate the headlites popped up like a frog.

thanks RFM & sixter! I like the security delay feature + as U mentioned it also has a day running light feature.

Hey mike I feel the same way about the parking lights , I can just eliminate that in a few seconds!

I wonder if you can have the same functionality on a car that doesn't have the keyless entry remote. Did you buy Sens56 Juniinc? Can you do a DIY write up when you install it so that the rest of us have a better idea on how to install it? I would like to hook one up too.

I think the auto-light option is a good option. I have it on my Maxima and it's awesome, especially the security feature. It would be nice if they also turned on when you turn on the windshield wipers. I know in Illinois, this is a mandatory state law that if it's raining, the lights need to come on.

Is this a kit? How much aprox?

Yup it is pretty cheap. U prolly can get it at Ebay

Yes I'll writer up something, if I do it. I'm still debating

do it, do it :D

Haha.. juniinc, with any luck, you'll have to pull out the old "relay support Bay" and have as much fun as I did! Don't hit your head a dozen times on the steering wheel like I did ;)
