Spoiler instrument light bulb

Recommended Posts

I was stopped by a San Mateo Co. deputy sheriff on I-280 and he told me that the raised spoiler was a cop magnet. He didn't write me.

I pulled the spoiler fuse and now the warning light comes on at 75mph and won't go away until I turn the ignition off.

I did a search but didn't see how to specifically remove light bulbs. I'm not too mechanically gifted. Could someone give me some instructions. Also, the Low Fuel light doesn't come on at start-up. Is the spoiler light the same as the low fuel light?

Is there some other way to disable the spoiler besides pulling the fuse?

Thanks

Maybe you should just slow down.

There have been several spoiler switch mods posted over the years. Have you searched?. I installed one a couple of years ago that uses an OEM spoiler switch and allows one to run the spoiler up or down, independently of the automatic, speed-dependent activation.

280 is a speed trap.

When I bought my Boxster 9 years ago I liked to show people how the spoiler went up and down. Boxster were not common back then like they are now. One of the persons, Bruce, is sort of a car nut. Bruce is also a lieutenant with SJPD. I use him as a private investigator when he is off duty.

Bruce asked me how fast the car had to be going before the spoiler went up. I told him 35 mph.
