litronic headlight dash illumination..?

hi, i have a 2004 boxster s with litronics. I noticed that the dash doesn't light up at night. is this normal? or is something wrong with the sensor on the dash? thx

Has the illumination been turned down?

Cant remember which button it is but one of the two switches that poke through the instrument cluster lens (clock set/trip) needs to be twisted either clockwise or anti clock for a few seconds - a bar graph will show in the display, keep holding the button and illumination will rise.

Cant see that all the bulbs for illumination would fail together

i've tried but nothing happens. it seems that it only works if i manually turn the lights on. ~_~ with the lights switch in the original position, it doesn't work

Different car I know, but the dash lights in my car (2006) do not come on unless I manually turn the headlight knob to on...
