Windows don't close fully after raising/lowering convertible top

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've noticed that when lowering or raising the convertible top, the windows drop a couple of inches (as they should), but then don't automatically re-close once the top has finished moving.

I need to "manually" press the electric window buttons to get them to close.

I'm pretty sure they should close automatically (they do on my friend's 996 cab).

Anyone know what could be causing the problem?

Cheers

Greg

Greg:

You didn't say what year 986 you are talking about.

On my '97, the windows drop when unlatching the top latch, but they don't automatically go back up after the top has completed its cycle.

Regards, Maurice.

Hello All,

I have a '99 that drops the windows down slightly when the top is lowered but you Cannot raise them All the way back up with the top down. They can be raise All the way with the top Up? Is this normal or a microswitch problem?

Thanks
