Remote door lock/unlock

2003 Boxster 2.7. My remote range looks to be very short (5 ft). I can lock/unlock my NIssan Murano from inside my house without having to go outside like I does with the Boxster. Any idea if that range can be upgraded? Remote battery is new from yesterday.

Alternatively (and dont laugh until youve tried) Hold the remote against your head when you press the button and it will extend the range.

Jeremy Clarkson demonstrated this on Top Gear a few years ago -- and it does work and on any vehicle - dont know the science for this though
