Exactly the same!

How did you find a plug that fit? Trial & error?

Just tried with a couple of tanks...

Excuse my ignorance, but exactly what does this mod do?

What does it do to the airflow, and how does it alter the engine sound?

Is it a mod for both turbo and non turbo models?

I'm fairly new to Porsche engines, so bare with me if the questions are kind of silly... ;)

Sound only really. That opening in the airbox acts like a muffler. All the cap does is disable the muffler. The result is a better sound. More throaty but no kind of performance gains. B)

There is a video from Fabspeeds website with a good explanation video of how their intake silicon hose bypasses the secondary opening in the airbox and why it makes it sound better. The video is in the 997 section at the bottom of the page. It's basically the same as the 996.

By putting the plastic cap in the additional hole you are basically doing what their product does.
