I found an 03 Turbo with 39k miles, one owner. Sticker was $130k, boxster red interior, sports seats, very clean!!!! Had the ecu flash, new upgraded clutch, new tires, 30k miles service done 6 months ago, one owner, 3m clear bra. He wants mid to high 40's and i am offering $39-$40k since there isnt any warranty and cant get CPO. I think i can get the records but i will still get the PPI

My questions:

For the over revs Type I and Type II what is the number that can be consider normal?

Does anyone from here know this car? NJ Plate:996TRBO

What is fair price for the PPI?

What is a fair price for the car and what would be consider a bargain?

I enclosed pics of the car

Thanks

WWW.KBB.COM has it listed in the low 50's. The cars ultimate value is only what someone is willing to pay at any given time and the haste at which the sale needs to be made. Offer 40 and see what happens. The interior color will take some getting used to.

There is no "normal" number. Stage 1 overrevs are unimportant as those are handled by the rev limiter. Stage 2 over revs are usually caused by missed shifts (downshifting from say 4th to 2nd) and spins. These are forced overrevs where the engine can be damaged. The perfect number here is zero but it is not uncommon to see a numbers in the low hundreds. I would be concerned of abuse with any stage 2 number over 1000.

That will vary on how in-depth the inspection is - if you gt compression test of each cylinder then that requires removing the intercoolers and is more labor intensive. I would say $200-$500 are about average -- and you should get a written report.

I'd pull the car fax and or talk to the dealership who did the service. I paid $150 last summer for PPI. If you check compressin then add another $200 to $300. The burnt orange would take a long time... Not a good color and I'd use that in my favor if I were to make an offer. Also it's late in the year and that car will need be stored very shortly!! SNOW! It's going to be hard to move that color for top dollar. There is a 2004 996 turbo out here in Oh at www.autoassets.com and it's had $15000 in engine mods. Very clean! E
