Swapping boxster to cayman spoiler

Does anyone know ( Loren?) if this will work on a boxster my 1997? Looks like a very nice swap to me!

That may work on an '03-04 MY 986 as they changed the rear spoiler and bumper design from the early 986s but even then it may not.

As for working on a pre '03 Boxster such as yours, I'd say chances are even slimmer. Sorry. However, I do recall at some point someone made a similar looking aftermkt spoiler for the early Boxsters. Unfortunately, I remembered reading about a number of them cracking...

Mmmmm... I wonder if I should try it anyway, I will see if i can find a spoiler on the scrap yard next week..

I have one of the fiberglass aftermarket spoilers and have had very good luck with it. The key to the install is not to over tighten the set screws on install, because it is likely you will crack the unit at the mounts. Paint quality was very good and I get many compliments on it; be interesting to see if you can make the Cayman unit work or not.

May i ask where you bought it and what you have paid for it? I love your setup! do you also have picture with the spoiler out?

I purchased it from an eBay seller in Florida (don't recall the name) about four years ago. It has held up quite well, but my car is not a daily driver. I recall the price was somewhere around $200 prepped and painted. I'll take a pic of the spoiler in a raised position this weekend...here's another angle in the down position. Here is a similar item, though I see they now produce them in Duraflex, which "may" be a better option, but cannot vouch for fit or finish.
