Does anyone use their daytime running lights

Recommended Posts

I turned on the daytime runnin lights via my PCM on my 07 C2S. It seems to just keep the xenon light on at full brightness and not dimmed as the manual says. Does anyone use this feature and are the lights dimmer?

Thanks,

27 looks and no replies. Guess the answer is NO. As for me, I use them on gray days to make it easier for people on their cells phones to see me. Beyond that, not much point to wasting the Xenon bulbs on folks who are so busy multitasking they aren't paying attention to anyone else. Rather than use daytime running lights I prefer to leave as much space between myself and other traffic as possible. Porsches were made for that. B)

It's law up here to have DTRL. On HID equipped vehicles it operates them at full intensity as the nature of the bulb only allows it to be on or off. I had them turned on with my Cayenne but since the inspection have them off.

Im Black, Im low and Im small, I squirt around the traffic with great agility, enough to startle someone thinking that no one was there a second ago....

I like the lights on so bright as it definitely makes me feel like i can be seen!

If you turn on via PCM your xenons will also turn on [at full power too since they aren't 'dimmable'] as they normally do under this setting. In order to get them [RotTecs] to function as just DRLs w/o any other lights on, you'll need to add the Dectane DRL module. 5 page thread on these over at 6speedonline but you probably already know that...

Good luck :)
