Need Help Installing The Relay Carrier

It was hard to remove the relay carrier, but even harder trying to install it.

Can someone please advise the best/easiest way to install it? It only has one nut holding it but I can't seem to get the side that snaps into place to align.

Here is a picture of the relay carrier. It would seem simple to install, albeit I am not having any luck.

It pivots like it is hinged.

Should I install it at a 45 degree angle so it pivots to the mounting bolt?

I too struggled when I had to remove and reinstall mine. I did find that the hinging mechanism is attached by a small bolt and nut (if I remember correctly). I was able to remove the nut and manipulate the tray much better. I installed the tray on the hinge mechanism while it was off of the firewall and then reattached the nut and bolt to mount the tray back on.

Hope this helps. BTW I have an 04 C2 cab, I assume all 996 models use the same relay tray but I'm not sure.
