Upgrading spark plugs

I own a 2002 996 c2 and want to replace my stock spark plugs with Bosch Super Plus FR5DTC Spark Plug. Will there be any problem using these? My car has 80k miles so I am def due for a change. These plugs are suppose to be high performance plugs. This part of my next service I am having my mechanic do plus replace all 4 O2 sensors , plus servicing my triptronic transmission , filter, fluid, and ring.

I tried some hotter iridium? plugs once and didn't notice any difference.

I switched back to stock and didn't notice any difference.

Latest plugs I'm using are NGK's and didn't notice any difference, they are two prong, but pretty inexpensive and compatible.

I think the ECU just compensates for whatever you are running.

What are you hoping to get from different plugs?

More HP? Longer between changes?

You won't see any difference - not a normally aspirated 996 anyway.

Not trying to gain anything except just do normal maintence and got a great deal on these plugs at 2.99 a piece. I was at one time going to install the Tpc supercharger and they required I upgrade to these plugs but since I decided to upgrade my suspension to coilovers and do some interior upgrades I have scraped the Tpc supercharger idea. I guess the plugs are compatible if Tpc recommended them. I have noticed my gas mileage has gotten worse so I was figuring doing the tranny service , O2 sensors replacement since I ran duramtetric codes for the sensors are aged. So since I am doing this I figured to upgrade/replace plugs. My only modification I have which I know effects the gas mileage is k&n cold air intake but I have had that for a while and never really had the bad gas mileage as I do now. I have order the sea foam treatment for the gas tank so that it might clean out the areas which effects gas mileage and performance . Also changing the plugs at 80k miles is more a piece of mind if nothing else.

FR5DTC has a 0.5mm gap. Maybe the Tpc supercharger feels they are harder to "blow out the spark" with the higher cylinder pressure from the supercharger. Bosch lists these plugs for 1990s 911 Porsche

Bosch recommends FGR6KQE although most places seem to recommend one heat range cooler a FGR5KQE. Both are 4 electrode "Surface Gap" plugs with a 1.6mm (0.062") gap, marked on the end of the box.

When I replaced the original plugs at 70K miles, I put in BERU Z129's. I did not gap them. I just replaced the tubes and and plugs and after 8k miles the car still performs great. If I go another 50K on this motor, I will replace them with the same.

Well,

I went to have my spark plugs replaced and i was surprised by the mechanic telling me that all my coil packs were cracked. I recently purchased new ones from ebay for 239, which is about $61.00 cheaper then getting it from anywhere else which wanted 48-60 each. I also contacted tpc and confirmed that I can used these plugs and that there is no issues.
