Anyone esle have this problem? At speed say 60 and up intermittently I get a loud whistle, sounds like it

is coming from the driver side mirror area. Happens usually when the sunroof is tilted open, but does

happen occasionally with sunroof closed.

I read there is a TSB on the mirror but couldn't find one.

Loren-

I did but the threads (on Rennlist) I read all pointed towards the mirrors.

And has anyone there solved the problem?

I would at least explore the TSBs - even more so if several are having a similar problem. If there were a mirror issue then I would think there would be a TSB for that too.

The discussions are kind of a mixed bag. Some say the mirror housing seam

causes the noise, some say the rubber seals.

Some say the dealer just replaced the mirror under warranty.

I guess I'll have to experiment with tape and w-stripping foam

since my CPO is expired.

Thanks

Sullivas,

You can be almost certian the cuplrit is the mirror. I had the very same problem when I first purchased my 997.1. It drove me nuts, although it would only be audible with windows down or when the convertible top was in the open position. I was still under the warranty period, so the dealership took care of it, but they described the process as one of essentially splitting open the mirtror case siliconing the seam and putting it back together. Again, I do not have hands on experience, but it DID solve the problem.

Good luck!
