While looking for source of ignition switched 12V I found a spare way (A7)on the fuse box which is designated for seat heaters, which I haven't got, When measuring it it follows the ignition on/off correctly. The only worry I have is the 996 wiring diagram shows this fuse way connecting to Terminal XE and not Terminal 15.

Anyone know what terminal XE does?

Yes this is an option.

A7 was empty, whereas E8 is already fitted with a fuse. Also being a bit of a geek!, I am interested when I see new things - so was as much as anything I was interested in finding out what terminal XE was for.

Terminal XE is ignition switched, and as far as I can see from the wiring diagrams supplies Relay XE, which is for the heater/aircon.

Other Terminal numbers I have come across are:

T15 – Ignition Switched supply

T31 – Earth (usually brown wire)

T30 – Permanent 12v feed (usually red+tracer)

T86S – Ignition switched supply (radio, etc, ign aux) - key in ignition.

T58d – Switch Backlighting

T50 – Starter?

T56A – High Beam

I think these are correct, but the ususl disclaimer applies!
