CD Player Disc...

Recommended Posts

I have some long time burned CD-CR and CD-CRW disc that work fine in my family car, but will not work (the player does not recognize the disc) in my single disc CD player. I've tried to use the CD-CR in lieu of the CD-CRW w/o success. I also put the files into MP3 hoping that would do it, nah... I'm using i-Tunes on my Mac to burn the disc. I also burned them at the slowest burn rate. I know the burn was successful since they worked on the other car... Any ideas?

Thanks

I have had best luck with exact copies of original CDs and CDs that are written in audio format like original CDs.

So you can still create a play list - just burn it as audio CD.

Some of my MP3 CDs work and some don't so I think it is a crapshoot on those.

iPod through an AUX cable is likely better these days than an CD... IMHO.

Loren,

My Mac i-tunes didn't have an "audio" burn, so with your info I downloaded a Mac audio CD burn, it worked... Many thanks for your direction and help. Another question, what is the ORVR fuse (fuse E6) for? E7 fuse is for "info" and "telephone", I don't have a telephone accessory so do you need this fuse? Is this "info" for the telephone only or does it support some other functions?

Thanks again for all of your help...

ORVR = The system recovers the vapors let out of you gas tank when you fill up your car. It only works when you fill up your car and insert the nozzle into the filler neck. When you take off your cap, push in the flap and you should hear a click for the system to start.

All US/Canada cars got "Telephone Prep" so your car has a cable under the center of the dash console that has +12 volts switched, +12 volts un-switched, Mute, and Ground.

"Info" usually refers to navigation systems like PCM (and some PCM systems also supported telephone).
