I am looking at a Baby seat for my 996 and 997 and have heard mixed results but the Porsche dealer reccomended the Recaro Vivo as it is built to fit 996 and 997 models. My dealer and the next closest one is sold out as there is some back flow problem with Recaro baby and child seats. Does anyone have any experience with this model on EBay. Looks to be the best deal on Ebay.

We have removed your double post.

Please re-read the board Guideline/Rules that you agreed to when you registered here.

"Please post your messages in one forum only. Crossposting, double posting, triple posting, etc. are all a waste of time and valuable resources. If you post the same message in multiple times or in multiple forums, we will delete the ones we feel are inappropriate."

If you are looking for a child seat why not post a "Wanted" ad in the Classified section.

Hi:

I have been using the Recaro Vivo for a few years now. Before I installed it, I removed the leather seat and the backrest from the car. I would not say the fit is perfect, but its very good. Without removing these two items, I would say it would be difficult to install this particular car seat.

Hope this helps.

If you are looking for a child seat with a 5 point harness that fits, go with the Diono Radian RXT (or the R120). It will of course be much pricier than a booster. It has a 13 inch base/seat and fits quite nicely. I have mine secured (forward facing) with both the seat belt (with a locking clip installed) and using the rear tether point (under the carpet behind rear seats). I did remove the leather seat to keep it from getting ruined, but left the backrest in place. I see no advantage in my particular application to removing the backrest. There is no advantage because the seat belt anchor point holds the base of the of seat out a few inches from the back of car seat anyway. If the seat belt anchor point had been mounted about 3-4 inches further back, then removing the backrest would then allow an almost flush mounting of the car seat. Alas, one cannot have it all, but this is pretty good!

I have been using the Recaro Vivo HIgh Back Booster for the past 18 months and have been very happy with it (same goes for my daughter). I got mine from Amazon and would highly recommend it. Plus not to be a fashion whore, however have gotten a couple comments about having a Recaro child seat :)

I did not have to make any modifications to the seating arrangement, just put down a towel so the plastic would not mar the leather long term and was good to go.

It is only $75 on Amazon with free shipping so you might as well buy a new one for piece of mind/etc.
