How do your get to the bolt in the back of the A/C compressor ?

Hi. trying to remove/loosen the A/C compressor. Two bolts on the front are easy. I can't even find the bolt on the back.

If you can get access to the Bentley 996 manual, starting on page 87-11 you will find step by step instructions with photos and diagrams.

+1 to JFPs post.

This is a lot easier if you remove the throttle body and t plenum behind it. Then you can reach around with your left hand and feel the socket/extension coming in from the top. Use a wobble socket and it is a breeze.

I used a flex socket and lots patients. also once you have it lose you have to pull it up some to slid it out. when you go to install it I tie a little line to the bolt head to keep it up close to the line she I have the two bolts up front on I remove the line and let the bold drop in place then pray that I can get the bold back it. It's a pain but it can be done. I used a little mirror and a light to see it, its really hard to see but it can be done.

Step 1: Acquire a massive amount of patience.

Step 2: When I do them, I pull the temp sensor off the right intake manifold, and use a swivel socket on an extension to get to the bolt. Then, use a magnet to hold the bolt up out of the spacer, so you can slide the compressor out.

It's an incredibly frustrating job, but doable.
