Totally new exhaust - re-map needed?

Recommended Posts

Hi as a new member, I need some info again...

Is there a need of any change to injection after exhaust modification?

I had to change the manifolds, cat's (200 cell units) and DK mufflers.

On Ebay they are selling new map. Like on German Ebay site:

"Here you buy MyGenius customers Flasher OBD TOOL for: PORSCHE 996 3.4L CARRERA 221kW/296HP ME7.2 300PS 221KW ab Bj.2000 Petrol/Benzina"

Is there any experience from this?

They send the unit and memory card. You download from OBDII your current map and send it with mail.

After a while they send a map to download to your car. In my case is -98 Carrera.

I'm wondering if this guy has the complete code for the ECU...  I have another issue that if someone had the factory code might solve for me.  Would you post the link to this guy?

Have you driven your car to see if there is any difference in performance or gas mileage, I'm thinking you might get into more trouble than it's worth...

Thanks,

On a normally aspirated engine there is no need for special software. If you disconnect the battery for 5 minutes you will force the DME into a "re-learn" mode. It will then re-learn both the car's settings and your driving style.

Special tunes can do huge horsepower increases on turbo charged cars but do very little for the money (IMHO) on normally aspirated cars.
