I'll reinstall my alternator and test that again.

Do you have any idea where to get another one of those metal bushings? Mine got destroyed in the removal process and I can't seem to find one online anywhere.

What metal bushing?

I think he means the metal bushing at the back of the alternator where the long bolt screws on. I don't know if they are available separately from the alternator. Most likely not :(

If that is the one he is looking for, a bone yard alternator may be his only option.

Finally I have an update.

The tool for the cigarette lighter with the new (used) alternator reads between 13.4 and 13.8

My multimeter on the battery showed about 1v less, sitting between 12.2 and 12.6.

When I attempted a drop test from the cigarette power to the positive terminal I showed a value of 1.5xx

Wow. So the + cable where it attaches to the distributor was not tightened. So that problem seemingly is now solved.

However I have two more.

One is a leak I'm getting from the underside of this big plastic tube - not even sure what it is.

Also it sounds like I have an air leak coming from the circled spot as well. Is there supposed to be a clamp there or is that normal?

Glad to hear you found and fixed the loose connection.

The plastic tube looks like the oil filler tube? If it has vacuum leak, it needs to be replcaed.

The circled part is the SAI pump outlet. I'm not sure but per the parts diagram, there should be a clamp. It shouldn't have air leak though unless the pump is ON.
