Fans Not Working After Water Pump Replacement

Thanks to all the great posts here I was able to replace the water pump on my 2001 996 C2 Tiptronic but now the high-speed fans won't come on. The low speed works fine when I turn on the air conditioner but there is no high regardless of the engine temp.

What is my next step in diagnosis? Is it possible that I caused a problem during the fill up process which requires removing the B1 fuse? I've taken it out and replaced it a fe times during the filling process (I flushed the coolant twice, it was disgusting).

What can I do to get the engine back on track?

Probably not.

 

You can however listen closely near the front tire on each side to see if both fans are not coming on or just one.

If only one is not coming on high then it is likely that the large resistor inside the wheel well has failed. There is a DIY for that here:
