Seat belt buckle and wiring update.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am going to do the seat belt buckle and wiring update on my 99 C4. The airbag light is on and it drives me nuts. I got the buckles and the wiring from Sunset Imports, and was wondering if anyone could provide me with a copy of the TSB. Looking at all the questions on the subject, it seems a DYI is in order. I will take pictures and try to put one together when I have a second.

If you could fax/e-mail/post reply/PM the TSB instructions to me, I would appreciate it a lot. My fax number is 305 960 1849 or e-mail ivass@hotmail.com

Thank you in advance,

Ivo

Contributing Members can view (all the) TSBs  ;)  ;)

Loren, can you tell me if the seat belt wiring has anything to do with my roll over bar light going on?

I was driving along tonight and for some odd reason the light just popped on.

Help?

Raymond

The overturn sensor and overturn light control comes from the convertible top controller and is not related to the seat belts.

Yesterday I changed my buckles and harnesses. I wanted to make a DIY, but the TSB available to contributing members is far superior to anything I could put together. The only thing I would like to add is that if you attempt to DIY, you should start from the passenger seat, it is a bit easier and will give you a chance to get your feet wet. Also, to pull the seats out – remove the front 2 bolts (2 on each seat) – slide the seat all the way forward – remove the rear 2 bolts (2 on each seat) – disconnect the battery – wait for at least ONE MINUTE – carefully lean the seats towards the back and disconnect the harness from the seat – depending on what option you have on your car, the driver seat will have 2-3 or more connectors that need to be unplugged and you might need a small torx (T-20) to take the two screws on the connector box off. The rest is in the TSB.

Good luck
