Can PSM be switched off TOTALLY?

At times PSM comes on when you trail brake to tighten up the corner, and if it kicks in, makes the car run wide, but still ok.... was wondering if you could turn it off completely. other than buying a GT2 or GT3..

No,  supposedly whenever you touch the brakes PSM will be active though will not do anything until it detects a possible "dangerous" situation.

Well I guess that's one way to descibe it .......I'd prefer.........PSM will only re-engage if the car is out of shape at the time the brakes are applied.

Point is, when PSM is off, only it's outputs are offline (it continues to sample data from ABS wheel spin, the yaw sensor, lateral acceleration sensor, and steering wheel position. It's not going to interviene. You can continue to slip....and slip right off the road.

If you brake however and your slide is more 7 degrees (I believe).......then PSM thinks your braking means you need help (and has already determined that over 7 in this situation is not a good thing).........and PSM will apply the program.
