CDR220 is there a usuable remote wire connection?

Recommended Posts

Hi anyone ever found a way to remote a amplifier from this head unit? TIA

O.K. Any idea on how to get the head unit out?

Pretty sure I have found the one to use but I do not have any removal tools to get the unit out.

Any at home cheats on how to get it out? Currently the only thing left in the interior is the shifter and dash, so taking it to the dealer is not really an option in the immediate future.

I haven't installed an amp but there's line outs according to the diagram here:

http://www.beckerautosound.com/porscheconn.html

for the pulling tools I know they sell them, cheap too (less than $5 I think), you can call them here:

Becker of North America,

16 Park way, Upper Saddle River, NJ, 07458

(888)423-3537 x1209 (201)327-3434 x1209

I just ordered the line in plug for the cdr220 and it got here in 2 days and the kit came with the removal tools

Thanks for the diagram, I used the one in the manual, I'll let you know if I run into any useful info.

I'm feeling pretty stupid, but it looks like C6 is the remote

Yea, I'm thinking the same thing I just hope it is not like some of the car systems out there where the power is only there fo like twenty seconds to raise the antenna. I'll find out today.

If you are going to a new amp you will probably want to use the low power outputs on the Becker 220 CDR. Becker sells an adaptor for the low poer output with RCA jacks and a wire for the amplifier control. I bought one a few months ago for adding my JL Audio amp.

Hi, sounds like a really good idea, but I just wanted to add to the system not really modify it. So I left everything absolutely stock, and used a Scosche line converter and ran it off the rear speaker terminals. The main reason for this is I did not want to play with the factory wiring. If I should decide to upgrade the plastic speakers?!? (light wieght gone toooooo far) I might decide to go that route. Again Thanks
