Wheels Repairs/Touch-Up

Recommended Posts

I have the Carrera Classic II (5 spokes) wheels and have a few specks/rock chips on my left rear wheel that I'd like to get touched up. They are very very minor and not worth painting but they bother me everytime I give my wheels a good cleaning. What touch up paint (color code) can I get from autozone to get them fixed? I prefer a pen/brush type. TIA.

Get a shrink!

LOL, just kidding. Seriously I have a few pinhead sized paint chips on my hood and elsewhere on the body that I wish weren't there, but if you drive anything it's inevitable and the usually the fix or attempted repair ends up looking worse than the original blemish.

Why not just get the whole wheel re-sprayed in the correct paint code.

I had clipped a kurb ever so lightly when turning into a tight side street and caused some scratches on the lip of my rear sport techno rim.

These bothered me - so I took the wheel off and gave to a group that specialize in wheel touchups/repairs etc. It only cost me AUD $150 to have the rim stripped and resprayed etc in the original colour.

It now looks as good as new etc.

I have road rash on my right rear wheel from taking a corner a little too tightly as well. It drives me nuts. When I switch to summer rims, I'm going to have them touched up too. What can I say, I watch corners and parallel parking very closely now to prevent a repetition.
