Hey Everyone, 1999 996 C2 Cab Does anyone have a picture or diagram for installing a new clam shell motor - comes with an update kit with new mount bracket etc. Looks like the old piece needs to cut off and the new section fitted and bolted/welded. Cheers. -
All of a sudden my passenger side door window will not go down all the way. It WAS working fine, no noise, and it drops a bit when I open the door and comes back up when I close the door...as it should. But all of a sudden will not go down all the way. Otherwise it works fine: Up and down, just it will only go down until it reaches the last inch or inch and a half, then stops as normal. The windows also work as they should when raising or lowering the top, but of course that pass-side window stops at the last inch or so. So, where should I look, and in what order? -
I have a 2004 Targa with the Bose upgrade. When I bought the car, one of the previous owners had replaced the headunit, removed the Bose amp, and had not reconnected the passenger footwell sub. I'm not a huge music listener in the car, so I'd like to remove the Bose subwoofer to get some more legroom back on the passenger side. However, I can't seem to find a carpeted trim piece to cover the hole that's left by the subwoofer. Does anyone know where I can find that, or have a part number? Thanks!

I own a 1999 carrera I opened up the top everything went fine. When I got home my hand brake would not engaged so I performed the "emergency operation" for the top as stated on the manual and got the top to close. Found out later a piece of paper got stuck between the hand brake and the switch which prevented it from engaging. So after getting the hand brake to engage again I tried to open the top it is just stuck. You can hear a clicking noise, indicator light would be solid then blink. Do I need to reset the anything or reverse the operation for it to work??? Mind you it did work before that whole hand brake paper situation. Thanks! ~Ram~ -
Have a 996 C4S Cabriolet and while topping off my hydraulic fluid this am (having problems closing top in the heat), I inadvertently did something that now has the car not starting, draining my battery, registering airbag and failure roll-over indicators, automatically extending the rear wing... Now when pressing the button to lower the top, it's providing intermittent power and clicking. I tried to follow a DIY on this site but couldn't get the fluid to stay in the hole. So I unbolted the hydraulic pump and turned it upside down. Still couldn't get fluid in so I put everything back together and called it a day. Tried to start the car and got all the errors listed above. Could I have shorted something out in the process? -
**** PLEASE IGNORE -- Answered my own question **** Couple of questions regarding the wind stop storage bag... I bought a wind stop from SunCoast and it didn't come with what I recognized as a usable storage bag for the wind stop. It came with something that looked like it should fit over a spare tire, and may or may not be able to contain the wind stop. But looking on my rear deck lid, I noticed a canvas piece of kit that I then reached in and took out. Lo and behold, it's a wind stop carrying bag (albeit, a bit faded). It's got these two metal snaps on it, too, which I can't figure out. So, I've got a couple of questions: Where do you store your wind stop/bag when you are not using the wind stop? Do you store in the rear deck lid or do you use the precious space in the front boot? If you use the rear, is it safe there with the cabrio mechanism? It looks like the wind stop cover has been back there for a couple of years with the PO. What do the metal snaps on the cover snap to? (pictures attached). The snaps are on the lower left of the canvas bag. Sorry for ****ty iPhone quality. Thanks! -Mike
