  1. They are captive... how did you lose one? They do not have a part number in the parts list... and I doubt you can find them at Home Depot. Perhaps a good automotive store or a wrecking yard.
  2. Keep the key out of the ignition. Even with the car off the airbags are active when the key is in. To be safe I would disconnect the battery. If your radio is a CDR-23 then the code is stored in the cars computer. No codes or trip to the dealer is needed - unless you change radios.
  3. It can be fitted with some work. The reinforcement behind the bumper either needs to be cut or replaced with the C4S/TT reinforcement and the ducting to the radiators needs to be changed out. Search here for posts by (admin) doncapecod. He has pics and details of his conversion on his MY02 Cab.
  4. I heard a story that Porsche gave most of the club racers in Europe steel brakes if they wanted them - free.
  5. Have someone with an OBD II scanner check for codes. Could be the idle control valve (if it is a C2). They carbon up and stick. If it can't be cleaned then it will likely need to be replaced.
  6. RoW M030 front suspension coil spring for MY02 - coupe. Should be marked with green and white.
  7. Make sure you have logged out and back in so the board will sign you in as a Contributing Member. Then you will need to click on the link on the TSB pages.
  8. Have you tried the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost). Email JeffClark@sunsetimports.com and tell him I sent you.
  9. 8.8 = 50 Tons per sq inch high tensile metric bolts previous called "aircraft quality" or "aerospace quality". Beware of counterfeit bolts
  10. Swapping engines will make no difference in direction. The strongest Tip is the A9650 Tip used in the Turbo and later Carrera's. It can easily handle over 500 bhp. I still think the A8620 Tip (from the Boxster S) will easily handle a 3.4 liter.
  11. Try doing a Search here. This has been covered many many times.
  12. I agree. If that is the original battery you've been living on borrowed time for a year or so.
  13. No, the differential is what makes the final drive go the right direction. You put the bevel gear on the opposite side. An A96 Tip will have the bevel gear on the wrong side for a Boxster - so either you change it (if possible) or you use an A86 Tip. If you get a Tip for a Boxster S I think you would be fine.
  14. I know! I know! ... oh yeah I not allowed to play. :( :(
  15. The EVAP canister purge valve is on the engine. Item 11 below.
  16. Here are the model numbers for the Boxster and Carrera Tiptronics. Wouldn't the drive direction in a Carrera Tip be opposite what it is in a Boxster Tip? I think so.
  17. Item 3 is: 996 563 551 00 01C Trim (in black) - retail $14.55
  18. Carrera firing order image - in a Boxster, the engine faces 180 degrees the other way. So in a Carrera, 1-3 are on the drivers side and in a Boxster, 1-3 are on the passenger side. Bank 1 is cylinders 1-3 and Bank 2 is cylinders 4-6.
