    No, you will need a PST2 or PIWIS and IPAS codes for your car. Any shop with the diagnostic tool and you would need to get IPAS codes from a dealer/OPC.

    You either have damaged wire harness or a bad shifter valve. Do a search here as others have replaced just one solenoid valve.

    It is always helpful to list the exact model and year of your car.

    You want a switched source - only on when the ignition is on. The lighter is always on. There is a connector in the center lower console that has +12VDC always on, +12VDC switched, and ground. That is your best source. Do a search here that connector has been discussed many many times.
