Here is is the fault code diagnosis info from the OBD II manual: P1128 - Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 2 (Cylinders 1 . 3) - Rich Threshold Fuel/air mixture is so lean that sensing has reached its rich threshold. If DTC P1128 or P1130 (oxygen sensing at rich threshold) is stored in the memory, this means that the fuel/air mixture is too lean. Air leaks ahead of the oxygen sensors can lead to a fault in adaptation. 1. Check exhaust system for leaks. 2. Check for air leaks in intake air system 3. Check fuel pressure. 4. Check volume supply of fuel pump. 5. Fuel injectors fouled. Actually, I would clear the code first (before trying anything further) and see if it reproduces.
  2. Just so folks realize this is NOT the Porsche PET program but an Adobe PDF file created from the current PET parts list. Very useful, but not as easy to search as the dealers PET program - and it will not show cross-references or updated/replaced parts. A very good buy for $9.52 - but always ask your dealer/supplier to check for a "newer" part number.
  3. There are currently no approved All Season tires for the C4S - only summer and winter tires. Porsche publishes lists (both Summer and Winter lists) of approved wheels and tires (and snow chains) in TSB format every year. The last one for C4S was Nov 2003. The C4S has it's own list since it uses the TT running gear (and wheels). Approved summer tires and winter tires are different sizes as well are the approved wheels. You can either wait for this years list or PM me and I'll send you last years.

  5. The scan tools software I mentioned can reset DME codes. The airbag fault code is not a DME code. Few aftermarket scan tools can access or clear faults in other onboard systems - mainly because every manufacturer has different faults for different systems. ABS, PSM, Tiptronic, Airbag, Roll-over protection (Cabs), Alarm system, A/C and heating system, PCM, Instrument Cluster, and even Parking Assistant can generate Porsche only codes that can only be seen or cleared with a PST2.
  6. If the dealer did the work before on the throwout bearing then that should not be the cause. I assume the rattle is somewhat different in sound. The dealer should be able to tell if the rattle is a broken weld in one of the mufflers. This has happened a few times on very new cars so it is not to uncommon.
  7. On the older cars (MY99-01) they used a silicon spray right at the shaft that enters the master cylinder. Do not use oil based lubricants that can damage the master cylinder seals.
  8. 996 111 053 02 and 996 111 054 02 are stock tips for a MY02 and will not work on earlier cars.
  9. Correct, Don's car is an 02. No (structural) difference from an 03.

  12. Doncapecod is your guy. I'm pretty sure you will need to cut the bumper re-enforcement or get one from a TT as it is much narrower. Well, if you want a 3rd radiator installed you will have most everything off to do it.

  14. All the plugs that are under the seat should likely be connected. As I recall you plug the two wire connector into the childseat - all others should be plugged in. Either way you will need to get a dealer to turn the airbag light off with a PST2.

  16. The oil filter is still 996 107 225 52. Also, the 996 571 219 03 pollen filter is the activated charcoal filter the plain one is 996 571 219 01.
  17. These have been revised as July 27th, 2004 - still preliminary though. Canadian version is also now available. You may want to download them again.
  18. Try locking it down again then release it again. Make sure you don't move the unlock too far as sometimes that will cause interference.
  19. 1. Make sure you find someone that knows how to paint plastics and will get the sideskirt tight on the body panel. 2. Your paint is likely 92U, which is water based paint (92T is conventional oil base). Just check the option sticker under the front hood or in your owners manual.
