Lots of possibilities - brake booster, shorted wire, bad bulb connector, bad switch, control unit. Did you drive through high water at any time? -
I doubt it - that may be a separate issue.

You will likely need to remove the front bumper on your newer (2nd gen) Cayenne.

No faults? No broken wires from the cruise control? If so, then you will likely need a new (or used) front end control unit.

You are likely going to need a Porsche scan tool to diagnose what is going in the front end control unit. Sometimes a re-programming is all that is needed - provided there are no faults reported.

Have a second person push down on the hood (logo) while you try pulling the cable.

Brown - ground - Terminal 31 Yellow/Black - telephone mute Green/Black - switched 12 volts - Terminal 15 Red/Green - unswitched 12 volts - Terminal 30 This connector is right behind the HVAC control in the center console on all USA/Canada cars (telephone prep).
