  1. Thanks Loren, so i assume i wouldnt not be able to preform the 1st test unless i was a dealer or i have a PST2
  2. Ok, In the past I was getting the P1411 code ONLY. Its was only Intermitent and after I cleared the code from the ECU, it would take about a month to come back. Now I got both P0410 and P1411 which are Secondary Air Injection Cylindars 1-3 and 4-6. I've heard that the air injection system is under the intake plenum which makes it alittle back breaking and difficult to diagnose the exact culprit in the air injection system. Could someone here give me some steps in pin pointing the cause of these Pcodes so i dont buy parts i dont really need? Thanks in advance!
  3. It looks like the factory stock cup holders.... Do the stock center console cup holder raise up just like the one in the link posted above or are the ones on the link newly designed?
  4. OOps, Just checked my tires, they are Z rated. $61.24 for Zrated Nexen Tires isnt a bad deal.
  5. I think your right, If anything, This should be made into a DIY mod, not a closely held secret for something that would be equevalent to auto-up passenger window on a MY97 boxster, I would never pay $100 for that. I would rather find a DIY, If one exsists.
  6. Yes they are pretty nice, When my front tires get close to bald ill replace them with the same tires and get an alignment.
  7. I just had some Nexen N3000 installed on my for my rear tires this morning, since my Father works in the shop i was able to get them for $61.21 each. I believe they are a V rated tire or a Y.
  8. Incase your wondering, after leaving the top closed for 2 days and parked in the sun. the top only requires a slight pull with one hand to latch on and close the top. Sometimes doesnt require pulling at all.
  9. It would if we knew weather not the vaccum canister in the air injection system sucks vaccum from the gas tank as do most cars. That would qualify as a leak. Ill give that a try before going to a mechanic.
  10. I found this picture at the end of a search for Center Console A/C Vent removal, I WANT this radio, Looks factory, What would been needed to get this to function correctly on my 1997 Boxster?
  11. Do you ever here a really loud "tap tap tap tap tap" when you start your cold engine in the mornings for about the first 2 seconds then nothing after that? If so, then its a lifter just like my boxster.
  12. I have a similar noise but its not pinging, its a 3000- 3700 Rpm lifter noise that i can especially hear while driving besides walls and tall Road Islands. Sometimes the lifter gets alittle unstuck and i dont hear the noise anymore.... I think before i do my oil change, ill use some motor flush and hope it breaks the lifter free.
  13. Yeah one thing comes to mind....Your PowerSteering Fluid level... If you drive it when nearly empty, you can burn out the pump, and ruin seals inside the rack and get air pockets inside.... Refill your fluid and turn the wheel back and forth half turns until it feels easy again and makes no noise.
  14. Live22, Just so you know... if you decide to get red, I wont be upset LOL
  15. oh yeah, what year Z do you own? I've owned 3 different TT's, I had all manuals trans versions from 1990-1992.
  16. Wow i didnt know you could adjust that, so is there suppose to be virtually no slack? kinda like just enough reach to re-attach the cable after being taken out of service mode?
  17. Remove the door panel, There are 2 rubber plugs capping over 2 holes behind the door panel cover, 3 inches below the top of the door itself. Once you take those plugs off, you'll see inside those holes is a Torx' bolt... Loosen both of them... by loosening them, you are releasing the clamp that holds the glass from lifting out. Now, Be gentle and give it a very slight nudge moving it backwards about 1mm at a time until you think you got it where you want it... Then tighten the torx bolts and close the door to see if your where you want to be. Adjust as needed.
  18. They both seem to be the same year, but with red i still get the image of a blonde lady with white rimmed sunglasses applying her red lip stick while driving it.
  19. quiet you! lol jk. I had a red porsche 912, i liked it after i waxed it but didnt like it 5 days later when the hood and fenders look orange.
  20. Lay down under your dash... While your looking at your clutch pedal assembly, you will see a spring that move in and out of a sleeve attached to the pedal assembly... Grease that mofo up with gobs of grease and you should be fine.
  21. Looks like its held together by weather proof glue that never drys and is always very sticky... Took a plastic lense off a another car and it required a high heat blow dryier to get it soft so i can pry off the lense without cracking it.
  22. I'd go with the Black one, Red is alittle closer to a lady's color, The black has less miles... not as good a radio as red but when they are both cleaned up, Black will look better. When the are old and alittle faded and covered in swirl marks, the black will look better cause the red wil start to look orange.
  23. I didnt know there were adjustment bolts to loosen the tops tight canvas fit. You are suppose to Steam the top so that it'l stretch during the installation, Makes it really hard if you dont... I know this first hand, I had to lay 2 old wooden head boards and a Iroc rim with tire on the roof to get the latch to grab on.
  24. dang, forget it then, i wouldnt wanna spend 95 bucks on a controler then more money on another keyless entry fob... Ill try to make up for it by painting the interior peices silver on the weekend.
