  1. Those key lugs are not very strong at all, I hear of them cracking all the time. I had to get one too when I first got the car, the only way is to go down to the dealer if you do not have the key number. I suggest now that you got a new one, you should write down the number somewhere so you can order it thru' the mail in future if need to.

  3. I'm with Loren, most likely it's the AOS...I had mine replaced.
  4. If you reset the memory settings with the gear shift lever in Neutral, instead of in Reverse, shouldn't that take the mirror tilt out of the memory setting?
  5. Not trying to start another oil war, but perhaps you should try 15W50?
  6. I'm thinking... the stealer will tell you that you need to replace the seat memory control module. They will try to charge you over $1000 :huh:
  7. nstevo, I say go for it as well. I did mine as well, but I'm on the east coast, so FisterD was not an option for me! But looking at pics of his work on rennlist, I was impressed with the quality of his work. I did get some advice from him though on which stainless pipes to get for the mod. I love the sound on the mod!
  8. I've been using the cheapest gas at whatever station, for years now. Never had any fuel related problems yet with any one of my vehicles...
  9. When you purchased the Pcar, it should read somewhere in the legal documents that the "passenger seat vibrate/rattle" is included with the car. Mine does, I think they all do, and yeah...adjusting the recline angle until you find the right spot, does help reduce the annoyance.

  11. Can anyone tell me how much time or labor cost is appropriate for the following jobs? Some of you might have had similar stuff done on your cars. If you know how much the parts cost, that would help also. 1. Air/Oil Separator replacement (I was quoted 8-9 hrs, it's a Tip, so requires an extra hr) 2. Oil filler hose replacement 3. Compression test - (I was quoted 3 hrs) 4. Both PCV valves (?) Together with an oil service, I was given an estimate of about $2500 with tax included. My Indy charges $93/hr. I know he can be a little expensive, but he's good and thorough, and does a good job. The good thing is I get to walk around the shop and my car, and talk to him instead of to a service advisor! I'm just trying to do my homework and arm myself with some ammo before I confront him tomorrow with questions about the work to be done, and the labor cost for everything. Thanks ALL!
  12. Yeah, I've been losing oil lately. Before this the car rarely lose any oil at all. I'm just concerned that excess oil in the cylinders might foul up the plugs, or even worse, the 02 sensors or the cats.
  13. I had ample early warning signs and symptoms but didn't take advantage of it, I have an appointment to take it in for a A/OS replacement next week. I am not looking forward to the embarrassing drive down! :rolleyes:

I had a CEL today, got someone to read the codes and got these: P0174B and P0171B I think they read: Bank 2 System Too Lean / Bank 1 System Too Lean Does anyone know what could have caused these? MAF sensor, 02 sensor? Maybe too much oil in the throttle-body/plenum area? Been having some "white smoke" startups lately. The CEL has been reset and it hasn't popped up again (yet) in the last 40 miles. 02 C4S - 82k miles THANKS! :cheers:
  15. If it helps to reassure you at all...... I bought my 02 C4S @72k miles, with NO PPI, just inspected the beauty myself after reading up on a 911 buyers guide. Took the car to my indy for a full inspection and service, after the purchase, He did a thorough look-around, and a compression test which returned very good results. Told me the car was rock solid, and that I was "very lucky" having gotten away without a PPI. It's been 10k miles and 17 months now, so far everything has been good, except for a busted coolant hose, and an alternator. Good Luck on yours!
  16. You'd probably not get much $ out of it with that mileage. If you can afford it, I say keep it as a side-toy, and get something new.
  17. Ahhh...that's a good tip! I was also struggling with the removal trying not to tear the liner. But it wasn't too bad, I guess coz' it was summer back then and HOT in my garage!
  18. Same here, I start the car, and by the time I get in and do what I need to do, like putting away whatever I'm bringing with me, turn on the radar detector, and buckle up....it's time to go. It's about a mile from my house thru' the sub-division (speed limit 25) out to the main road, When I get out on the main road, I drive along normally, and would wait at least about 5-10 mins before I push it hard.
  19. Tailwag...for the Bimmers, try this trick: Hold the key (metal part) to your chin (touching) and press the button. The range should be considerably further than what you are getting now. I know, if you have not heard of it yet, it sounds funny and stupid, but give it a try and see for yourself! I'm giving this tip from experience ;)
