  1. This is Porsche dealer right ? I would have to check but you have to remove the strut, thats a couple of hours at least I would bet $880 for the rebuild kit install.

I don't think the parts you added would impact any control unit related to happy running of the engine since they are clearly separate UNLESS you hooked into existing power circuits that you don't know maybe leads to a CU. I have seen where a denison type unit will cause problems with PIWIS reading the system which is why they have the bypass switch. But if fuses were blown obviously something is wrong. To overload it sufficient to blow the fuse I would be looking at foreign loads connected same as the dealer is now questioning. perhaps one of those is failing and drawing to much. Next step would be to isolate them from the system
  3. On the 04's there was a batch of bad struts. The metal you describe suffers metal fatigue. This is the first time I have heard that this did not result in explosive decompression. Noted by a big bang then your nose down and running on the rubber bumpers. Get it sorted quickly, they can rebuild the strut and don't listen when they say you have to get it done in pairs. On my 04 both went one at 70k Miles and the other at 110K miles. Unlucky for me I still had the car hahaha.
  4. In UK at least the MF controls were optional. If you post your VIN we can check what it came with from the factory
  5. email sunsetimports with the same description and your vin. I did and they sold me a bag, they are really cheap
  6. Its the between the screw head and the surface of the cover. Its expecting the german base plate
  7. Sometimes you do get oil pooling in the turbos, if its a lot then service may be required
  8. Experience over here is that unless the tires are mounted using a road force machine then you can get all sorts of issues and bad tire wear. 27K miles on these tires are not that bad tho. My old Contis were only good for 15K Miles
  9. If its a TT in a city then I would think its about right. If your banging into town along the M3 everyday it should be about 17-18 on a TT
  10. If it was the wrong sensor the error is much worse. My winter wheels are from 955 and the frequency is wrong, the system does not even see them and complains all the time. The fact that yours are "learning" implies the system at least patially senses the wheels. Maybe until all 4 are "learnd" then it will continue to show this error. So, could be one of the sensors is bad and its only seeing 3 wheels. Not sure if a Durametric read would see that but there is a good chance that PIWIS will to tell you which one (or more) are bad. Cheapest option is JFP's , go to a tire shop and see if they can test them
  11. you did not give MY but looking at the picture its an 05 + S. Assuming its 05, so the batteries could be 04, that would be my first guess but its not a job I would tackle since the tyre has to come off. If you have any warranty I would try the dealer, these batteries should last 5 - 12 years.
  12. that kit refurbishes the pump, the dealer will only replace it hence the cost
  13. The antenna at the back is predominantly a vertical coverage same as addons,these have almost no sidescan capability so overhead obstructions like tress cause issues.. The Shark Fin has sidescan capability hence the difference in reception. Mine is not bad at all, much better than the kenwood addon on my beta
  14. That looks like it, but wvicary is correct there should be some codes to look at, do you know anyone with a DURAMETRIC ?
  15. could be the compressor has gone, common problem. A VW recon kit is available
  16. be careful tho. representation in the US changed so there are some older ones around. If you just get the Mobridge you should be OK but if you get the BT version there was a change from analogue Parrot to Digital Parrot. None of the older ones have the digital
  17. Mobridge, fit behind the glove box and iPod in lower center console. Easy install. The CDC requires removal of interior panels and is a PIA
