  1. Yup I got about 13,000 miles on my N3000, still morethan 60% tread left .
  2. maybe it's the CQ ballast,,, unhook the HID ballast power let us know what happens.
  3. I feel U grover , It is fun to shift on your steering wheel. I do like the DVD mod on that center console(fresh), never seen that but wrong place to put it,,,just because U would have to look down always.
  4. prolly 02 2.7 Egas(newer, lower mileage) then again U gotta ask yourself, also be sure what U want! When I got mine I was 100% certian- It had to be a S,black on black, properly broken in mileage, scheduled maintenance,no leak & tip I know p cars supposed be & performs better with a manual tranny, but being stuck Seattle down town bumper2bumper traffic my left leg was getting too old(my wife doesn't know how to shift either) Good luck.
  5. +1 like my rag top especially when its raining
  6. I haven't seen any 987 sound upgrade yet,,, plenty of 986 upgrades in 986 forum. The output power doesn't really matter since all U need is a signal from your HU. Nope U cannot connect it directly to the amp(after market)especially if it's a fiber optic. Most likely it would have to go in the front trunk.
  7. great idea! JeT. I've thought about this too,,,but not too practical($$$$$$$$$) It would have to be some radical modification. when our rag-top folds , due to the design of 986's clam shell it has to be folded thin being on top of the engine cover & rear storage compartment. I'm sure being a retractable hard top, it will require a much thicker folded top(metal) + more depth. Hey anything is possible, perhaps with a higher clam shell(modified speed hump?)?
  8. what happens after your seat is clicked back? Does it come forward a bit then clicks back when U accelorate? How did U inspect it? Are those 4 mounting bolts tight? It is easy to remove your seat(5minutes). just be careful not to trigger the airbag light, I usually leave my wiring hradness intact. Also protect your door sill I would remove then inspect the railing.
  9. ouch, I doubt there is a Firestone in Puerto Rico B) . +1 Firestone,,,that is what I got, prolly used it several times already. I like the fact their equip is a 4wheel thrust. while they are at it, usually get my 4wheels re-balanced for 40 bucks. I'm just not satisfied with their Kendall synthetic oil, so bucky's do it for 10bucks when I BOO. Perhaps Puerto rico P- dealer has the highest profit margin in the world.
  10. yup Bosch UK http://www.boschautoparts.co.uk/pcBatt1.asp?c=2&d=1
  11. The water spots have gone too far and actually etched the clear coat of your paint ? I hope not :o ,,, commercial water-spot removers are available at most BOAT shops. ducky & pumix are well known http://www.gettommys.com/Boat/Boat-Accesso...ot-Remover.html http://www.pumixinc.com/ I've seen some PPL using a hawaiian shine,,, Good luck
  12. aluminum finish,,, Yup eric & macsak were dead on, they were only on MY04 550 special edition 986S. This is what they look like celebrating the 50th birthday of the 550 Spyder by launching a 986S special edition limited to 1953 units. production of the 986S was limited to 1953 units to commemorate the 550 Spyder's introduction at the 1953 Paris motor show. The drilled rotors have a diameter of 318mm at the front & 299mm at the rear. Exclusively for this SE, the 4 piston aluminum calipers of monobloc design have an aluminum paint finish.
  13. move the vehicle into the shade, mix up a solution of 1/2 distilled water and 1/2 distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle and clean it with a soft cloth.
  14. hydraulic fluid MAY damage any painted finish or plastic parts it contacts
  15. I just contacted my carbon element source. I'll write up a full DIY in about 6 weeks,,,
  16. optical lens can go out like that, u can always try to use a CD player cleaner. BE 4462 for MY99-01 Carrera/Boxster BE 6625 for MY02 Carrera/Boxster They both use the same wiring hardness. It should be plug&play
  17. If your 986 is leaking power steering fluid on the ground, the most likely cause is the Steering Rack. also power steering hose can eventually develop leaks. Locate where it's leaking from first,,,, The best way to locate the leak is to pour in a little bit of power steering fluid, start the engine, turn the steering wheel and then have a look underneath the car.
