  1. Hi, I own an '06 C2 with the Factory aerokit. Ground clearance is definitely a concern, not on the street though, on driveways. You need to think about the rear spoiler too. Porsche does not reccommend one without the other. My car also has PASM, which lowers our cars by about 10mm. donlycan
  2. I think the price is very good. Neat looking car! I love the Aerokit! Good Luck! donlycan
  3. Thanks for the great first hand info! I thought that the PSS9 which is PASM specific, was OK. Apparently not! It looks like the stock suspension will remain. I did a DE this past weekend and found the handling to be great as is. I also learned that there is no MO30 suspension from Porsche. All cars Worldwide with PASM are the same height.
  4. I'm very pleased with my Craftsman aluminum floor jack. Low profile and raises quickly with little effort. I think they have 2 models now, I would go with the one that weighs 30-35 lbs. Good luck!
  5. I would try stainless brake lines. That was the solution on my 964. Good luck!
  6. How many miles does this car have on it?
  7. If you are a member of PCA you might try to get some help there. I completely agree with your position.
  8. At the end of the day, I would have to agree with geza. There are some brands that carry as much cache as OEM. BBS, HRE, Fikse are a few that come to mind. I think it really does come down to peace of mind, IF you can afford it.
  9. ...and the bolts should be torqued to????? I plan on installing headers on MY06 997 next week. I've already bought the new gaskets. donlycan
  10. They look great! Nice job! Thanks for the info. donlycan
  11. Thanks for the info. I had not even heard the term "Launch Edition" until a couple of months ago when a friend bought a LE Mercedes. It came with a number of special options and finishes. When I saw the ad for the LE 997 I couldn't determine the "specialness". lol I think I get it now and it sounds like a very desirable vehicle. Thanks!
  12. I am looking for some feedback on upgrading the suspension on MY06 Carrera coupe. My car has PASM and I am looking at Bilstein PSS9 (for PASM), H&R (Eibach) lowering springs, or Factory ROW (?) suspension. I don't want to make the ride significantly stiffer but I do want to lower slightly more without losing the ride flexibility that the PASM offers. I'm considering probably no more than 1 or 2 DE's. Total cost is also a consideration (both labor and materials). Thanks in advance for your input.
  13. I haven't done it yet. If you get to it first, please keep us posted. Did you check on the roll bar hardware? donlycan
  14. My next step is to install the EVO/Suncoast headers that I purchased yesterday. Remus makes a nice looking product, glad it sounds good too. I am very pleased with the APR mufflers. donlycan
  15. I did not remove the rear bumper to do my install. I did remove the support behind the wheel, body to the fender, to ease the removal of the muffler. I installed the APR mufflers last weekend. I took your advice and did not remove the bumper. I did remove the bumper stays at the rear of the wheel wells, as well as, the rear wheels. It was an easy install, up about 3-4 feet on my lift, and sounds fantastic. I removed the PSE and coiled up the vacuum lines to protect them from heat.
  16. That is "too funny"!!! Being "old and fat"!!!! lol donlycan
  17. I've recently seen an ad for a 2005 C2S Launch Edition. Can someone please explain what was special(different) about this version? donlycan
  18. Hey Gundo! Would you mind sharing your info on best removal strategy? donlycan
  19. Hi! Sounds like a nice car. Let me share my experience with my '06 997. I purchased my car from a Porsche dealer in 12/07. the msrp was just over $100k. I paid $70K. It had 1800 miles on it. Later in Dec. I purchased Factory 997 18" wheels with great replacement tires for $405. I have had some previous DE experience, and I know the wear and tear that will be inflicted. Always go for the best handling least expensive sized tires. In this case 18's are much less expensive than 19's. With regard to PSE, mine is turned on/off with PASM and/or Sports Chrono Plus. I think the previous reccomendation is a good one, if you spend a few extra dollars that make you feel better, go for it. Having said that, don't jump so quick. Another resource not mentioned is eBay. Watch the 997's that have no reserve, that's the real market value at that time. Car prices are off, big time, right now. Good Luck! donlycan
  20. Thanks so much for the pictures! They answered all my questions. Happy Holiday! donlycan
  21. Thanks. I guess I was thinking more of the mounting rather than the wiring. I was really struck by your comments about sight lines and suction cups. donlycan
