  1. If it is the AOS it will just continue to leak some oil until the AOS gets worse.
  2. Clean it up and check again in a week. I suspect the AOS is blowing oil out the vent tube on 4-6 head located near the A/C compressor. Rick 99 996C4 87 944S
  3. You can get the block re-sleeved. LN Engineering in the US (http://www.lnengineering.com/boxster.html) and also Autofarm in the UK (http://www.autofarm.co.uk/engines/water_cooled/silsleeve_tech)
  4. IIRC, it's only 3 additional bolt at the transmission flange and the shaft drops and slides out.
  5. I doubt your oil pressure is actually dropping to 0. Were the connectors clean and free from corrosion?
  6. Get your alternator rebuilt. There are usually many shops thats will rebuild or supply parts to rebuild for under $100 bucks. I rebuild my daughters alternator for her 944S for $13 a few months ago.

Per that SN, it's a 2003 manufactured engine. - Last 5 digits on from the right are the specific serial number - 6th digit from the right is the code for the year of production - 7th and 8th digits from the right are for type of engine (NA or turbo, and for the number of cylinders Back to the year of production (6th digit from the right end) W = 1998 X = 1999 Y = 2000 1 = 2001 2 = 2002 3 = 2003 4 = 2004
  8. I have a feeling they would work just fine. I can't see Porsche doing a complete redesign of the mount points and electronics with the aesthetic changes.
  9. The manual has: Lock nut on intermediate shaft flange M8 X1 10.0ft/lb or 8.0ft/lb if special tool 9110 is used. So I would say 10ft/lb
  10. Yes there was one radiator and one condensor for the A/C.
  11. A normal multimeter won't register fast enough to get a accurate reading. You need a noid to see if it getting any voltage. An oscilloscope will allow you to see the to see the voltage amount.
  12. The engine should be locked at 1 TDC. The IMS and 1-3 tensioners are very easy to get to from under the engine on the flywheel side. 4-6 is a pain as it is on top and hard to get access to without unbolting the A/C compressor.

  14. Take it back t the dealer to fix again. If there is that much oil leaking, then they did something very wrong.
  15. Does blower relay work if you place it in block 10? Fuses blow because the circuit you are protecting is drawing more current then the fuse is rated for. Either you have a bad relay, blower motor, fan resistor, or a short in the wiring.
  16. I removed the sunroof first, but I think you can do it as one piece. I think there is 4 or 6 bolts that hold the mechanism to the roof, it's been a few years.
  17. The last 2 numbers in Porsche part numbering system is revision number, so the -52 is a updated -51
  18. I have to help by pushing on the sunroof as it's closing or else it will reopen about 50% of the time. I've had the track out and cleaned and lubed everything. Removing the track is not that hard. I feel that my motor is starting to go south and drawing too many amps causing the safety circuitry to kick in and reopen it some.
