  1. Yes, only the dealer can supply these codes and sometimes they don't like to give them because they know you will get some work done by an independent shop, but these are your codes!
  2. You need the IPAS code. This is a list of specific codes to reprogram functions on your car. With proof of ownership you should get them from the dealer. Look here: Sometimes it is not easy to get...http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/42316-no-windows-sunroof-interior-lights-central-locking-etc/page__hl__ipas__st__60
  3. The left lower lever on the steering column give you these options only: Just move it up or down and you can select any of those displays: Outside temp, average speed, average consumption, range remain, boost, see page 77 of the owners manual...
  4. There is a black cap but loose and I thing it is only a breather port but not 100% sure.....
  5. There was a paper version but I think it is sold out. Sometimes it is possible to found it on Ebay but the last one I saw was $750.00.
  6. No problem JFP. I fully understand the situation and I am really sorry about that. It won't happen again. Thanks for the clarification.
  7. Just trying to help by guiding someone to a site open to anyone ????? Sorry I've never read the rules....

  9. Every fault in the troubleshooting include "valve lift fault". Did you looked at your valve lift solenoid bracket?
  10. I am afraid Mike to touch these programming functions because I got no way to save the original file before I start modifying them...May be it is due to the fact I got a clone and cannot access the hard drive...I am not too good with PC being on a Mac since my first encounter with the computer world...Sorry but I cannot be of any help in this case but if you found anything I am interested to learn! Also,I was told the PST2 is not made for programming, it is made for modifying basic functions like the amount of time the interior stays on after opening a door etc....But I am clueless on this subject....
  11. The sun sensor is for the climate control to compensate for the hot sun entering the car. How come I did not have this device in my Datsun 510 1970???? Oh my god I drove this car without it!!!! :D
  12. Impressive research Mike. If the wire is not completely broken and they were only touching each other do not go into the trouble of replacing it. Just isolate it and it will be fine. Do you know if it was damaged by somebody working in the area or if it was only by vibration and rubbing on each other ?
  13. "jp- I think there have been a couple of them and a lot of write-ups. With mine, the rod that goes across the headliner behind the sunroof was broken off on both sides. Right now, the thought of doing a sunroof delete is more appealing than doing a sunroof repair." Broken rod on both sides??? Strange. At least, if you change your mind, you know what's wrong and what has to be fix to get the sunroof functional again... "I'll be driving the car all winter. With snow wheels/tires on, I can fit on the tracks of car wash without scraping the rims and will be able to get an underside cleaning once a week. " According to some people on Rennlist, the TT seems to be a very good car to drive in the winter. If you got lots of salt on the road, of course cleaning the underside is a good thing.
  14. Mike there is a TSB about the sunroof rattling #6028. The winter is coming. I am installing a heating system in my garage to be able to work on the car this winter or simply sat in front of it in admiration....I hope you are equip to be warm working on the TT?
  15. This is a really frustrating problem! I cannot believe it! Monitoring, central locking ???? Good luck with that one Mike. Anxious to see your findings!
  16. Renntech 996TT and of course myself are going to miss you Frank. I am really happy for you that you found a buyer for your car but at the same time I am loosing a good friend. Thanks for all those numerous post to try to solve my own or other people problems. Good luck with your future project and in priority take a good care of yourself, J.P.
  17. Good job well done! Good to see there's always a cheap way to fix little thing that can be costly!
  18. You are a very tenacious man  . It is a pleasure to help you Mike but my experience with alarm sensing and your last two codes 34 and 60 are in an unknown territory for me.... But I follow this thread very closely!
  19. I am following this thread from the beginning. Always nice to learn something for others. Thanks for the follow up!
  20. Sorry Mike you are on your own for that one. I've never heard of anyone having to deal with a problem like that. Good luck!
