  1. I read a thread on this (I think I remeber it right) that even the smallest homelink is too big for the small 996 visor.
  2. No, these cables actually do appear to "push". Watch the motion of the cables while you operate the shifter.
  3. I didn't have the green piece on my '01 996. Loren, the blue cable can't just be for reverse, it's the only cable that transmits l/r motion, and I believe it will adjust the l/r center of the shift gate. Jeff?
  4. Ditto. I did get the extra lighter socket, but It didn't seem to be needed.
  5. Of course I did. But next time, try this: It's the "swoopy, curvy, a sculpture on the back of my car" aerokit rear wing for the 99-01 Coupe only. Karl OK?
  6. The most beautifully designed spoiler I've ever seen. I've never really found good words to describe it. Swoopy, curvy, a sculpture on the back of my car. And you just HAD to go and call it a "taco shell". Thanks alot, Karl!
  7. Yep. You'll find plenty of info in the Boxster forums! :)
  8. I like the rear window wiper switch. It doesn't look much like a garage door, but it has separate illumination and contact circuits (but no function LED).
  9. I think the clutch is the difference. You can heel & toe cause the clutch is in, you can't dry your brakes cause the clutch is out.
  10. If you just want a whiter light, yes. There are a few brands of "super white" bulbs. Avoid particularly blue lights or "prism" lights that will make your car look ricey. If you want the true effect of the xenon HID lights, the sharp cutoff and clean light, splurge for litronics. You won't regret it. Litronics are available as a kit in the tequipment catalog. I think it cost about $1500.
  11. I got mine in black (A03?). I also got the 996 652 103 00 "No Smoking" cigar lighter plug.
  12. Jeff, The 100ohm resistor will prevent the air bag light from coming on. The seat belt warning is the other contact on the switch, 1 to 4 on the plug under the seat. (5 & 6 on the other conector). Opening that circuit (or not having the receiver installed) should prevent the light.
  13. My dealer just quoted me over $300. I don't remember the exact price because my ears slammed shut in a protective response (much like blinking your eyes).
  14. Can anybody post pictures of your gurney lip? GT3 or Cup Aerokit. I want to be sure mine goes on in the right spot.
  15. Thanks for the feedback! I'll consider putting a new one on plain black! It will avoid any problems with color match if they try to paint the new one later. Plus, it'll make me a better poser! :jump:
  16. I'm having the Cup Aerokit (for 01 and earlier) installed. The paint shop trashed my Gurney Lip. The dealer suggests that I leave the part off. Has anyone done this? Does the Gurney lip in this application really do that much or is it just cosmetic? Any comments appreciated. Patrick
  17. Are you talking 996? There is a single piece of carpet just behind the back seats. It just pulls out, no fasteners. The shock towers are pretty far inboard and aren't stuck behind panels.
  18. The body shop did a good job of cutting the bumper where Loren suggested. The fit looks good. The nose and rear decklid are on, I have yet to have the sideskirts installed. It would be interesting to have a copy of the tech bulletin that covers this. When the job is complete, I'll post pics. Patrick
  19. 999-650-180-40 Electrical Connector (actually just a shell) 999-650-960-40 Slide in Cover for the Shell http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/show...&threadid=26812
  20. Thanks, Loren. I should know by the end of next week. I'll post photos here.
