  1. Fault message 2053 states a faulty transfer case control unit, not outputting data. Same fault if unit is not powered. There are several fuses which feed this unit. Could be prudent to check and reseat them, also check the ground to the control unit.
  2. Apart from all the other issues going on with the 4 wheel drive system, selecting the transmission into Park is a mechanical function of the selector lever via a cable to the gearbox which engages a pawl into a gear inside the transmission and thereby locking it.If you indeed selected transmission into Park and the car kept rolling, there is a mechanical failure between the tranny selector lever and the transmission.
  3. I had the same issue recently. Servo failed due to a fault that had developed in the control module. Had the dealer change both the servo and transfer case control module. There is a TSB recommending both be changed if year model is 2004 or earlier. The servo motor and control unit have been updated since 2004. No coding required when changing either part.
  4. Are these heater tees the same ones at the back of the turbo engine that are known to crack, or are these a different set?
  5. Regarding the Panorama roof issue, attached is the workshop procedures you can try. Panorama quick adjust.pdf Panorama panels remove-install.pdf Air Deflector Remove-install.pdf
  6. ekstroemtj, if you want, PM me your VIN so I can check some of your options and see if we can get some clarity.
  7. Regarding the lights, does your light switch have the "Auto" position ?
  8. Manual says engine mount replacement can be done without engine removal on the S. Engine needs to come out for the turbo though.
  9. Ignition on, gear in neutral, foot on the brake. Toggle the Hi/low range switch on the centre console forward to get low range. Toggle it rearwards to get back to high range. The adjacent red LEDs should illuminate as you do this heading towards the lower range.
  10. Cycle the transfer drive servo through the low range to high range setting and see if it works.
  11. You don't have to change both pumps. The other pump has done the same mileage as the failed one, and therefore will probably soon fail as well. Good time to change the fuel filter and regulator whilst your there.
  12. The fans can and do run with engine off. I have heard mine on several occasions. Here's why as explained in the Porsche Service Information Technik section 2 page 45. Fan Run-On To cool the engine compartment the fans are switched on with the ignition OFF, depending on coolant temperature and the last driving cycle (map on fuel con- sumption). The switch-on threshold is between 90 °C and 93 °C and running time is between 15 seconds and a maximum of 13 minutes. Once fan run-on is concluded, the fans will not start again with Engine OFF. In the Cayenne Turbo, the electric coolant run-on pump, which provides cooling for the turbocharger (to prevent oil coking), is activated through this function. The run-on pump is located behind the left front wheel wheelhouse liner. In addition, this pump is activated on the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo by the air-conditioning control module to utilize residual engine heat.
  13. The refrigerant flowing through the expansion valve when a/c is on is usually the source of the noise. The bad news is that when you can hear the hissing noise, the system is probably low on refrigerant due to leak etc. As for the cabin filter for the 4 zone system, there is only the one.
  14. Normal to see a cupful of oil collect in that pipe. My service advisor says it is due to the breather circuit of the engine etc. I get both left and right pipes drained every year at the annual service and oil is always evident in the left hand pipe, very little if any in the right. Nothing to worry about turbo seal wise, as long as oil isn't evident in your exhaust tailpipe.
  15. Fault P0481 Fan control output stage 2 - open circuit/below limit value/above limit value Diagnostic conditions • Time after the engine is started longer than 10 seconds Possible cause of fault ♦ Break in wiring in power supply to fan module 2 (small/to the left) ♦ Short circuit to ground in control line to fan module 2 ♦ Short circuit to B+ in control line to fan module 2 ♦ Fan module control module 2 faulty ♦ DME control module faulty
  16. Was the dessicator (receiver drier) replaced as well since air got into your system? This item removes the moisture that was in your system, but once it becomes saturated, it needs to be changed otherwise there is no more moisture removing protection which can cause issues down the track.
  17. No personal experience. More info. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/porsche-cayenne-forum/782630-new-cayenne-aluminum-and-carbon-fiber-drive-shafts.html
  18. Could be time for one of these. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/955AXLE/955-0308-DS-CF.html
  19. If its coming from the centre console it could be the cardan shaft bearing carrier starting to chirp.
