  1. check the cap (look for signs of dried coolant)...these are known to fail and leak and the coolant evaportaes before it hits the floor.
  2. glad you got it working....the MAF is IMHO, the single worst component on the car (not just Porsche). It can fail, become fouled, send wrong signals to the ECU, be easily misdiagnosed, etc. I mean there are times it will throw codes (like PSM and ABS) that have nothing to do with it and other times it won't throw codes at all. Like in my older P-car (where I kept a starter relay in the glove box), I keep a spare MAF around JIC.
  3. great news...yeah Loren has built quite a site here...great technical support from Loren and his..."folks"
  4. My guess is he fixed it as it was THREE years ago...LOL :o and if he didn't fix it, he's been sitting at that light a long time....
  5. Sounds more like a master cylinder leak... Have you checked the fluid and the fluid reservoir? ...But replacing a slave or an accumulator should only be 3 hours labor, should cost about $600-700 to do (Parts cost on both items should be somewhere less than $400) and "should" last you a while... link for accumulator
  6. well I have an interstate as well...they (whomever you bought the interstate from) should provide you with the appropriate adapter...
  7. correct..they do output a voltage, just not the normal output voltage.
  8. some times you get what you pay for and I wouldn't skimp on pedals (you don't want them falling off while you're driving)...check out these
  9. hmmm it needs to be vented. It should have come with a vent tube adapter....
  10. you will need your ECU altered to use the Hitachi MAF...it is not plug and play...Do you have an aftermarket intake or filter? Any ECU flash? It is better to understand why the MAF is giving a false signal than to just implement potential solutions without understanding the fault. Others have cleaned the MAF to some reported benefit.
  11. 4a/00, 6658 Carrera Rear Spoiler Purge Fan Wiring...in the TSB section, but you don't need the TSB to check it.
  12. You don't need the TSB to check it???....use Loren's procedure with the piece of paper if you can't feel the air flow yourself.
  13. Well Loren beat me to it I see... bank 1 I believe (cylinders 1-3)
  14. OK, I'll play...seriously as a kid (which was a long time ago) I will never forget the turbo carrera. My dream car. I believe the 959 to be representative of the apex of the turbo carrera. There are certainly others that are milestones and great collectors items. I love them all (my wife prefers the 356!).
  15. So why do you not think it is just the battery? How old is the battery? Do you keep it on a maintainer? Battery is the number one issue with starting a porsche I have found.
  16. The M-codes also relate to variances within the model...tip vs. 6 speed, coupe vs. cab, etc.
  17. assuming you have the K16 turbos, you SHOUL be getting .7-.8 max sustained boost. This is the boost when WOT in third or fourth gear....not spikes. If you are actually getting .9, you have been flashed (perhaps not well, but that is better than normal). If you do get a flash, K16 limits for power is about 1.0. Best to know what other mods you have (e.g., exhaust).
  18. the hydraulic fluid you need for the top is to run the top mechanism...it has nothing to do with hydraulic fluid anywhere else...
  19. Funny your English is better than the guy from jersey^^^...LOL What parts of the manual do you want...Porschelibrarian has them for sale I think....
  20. Go with the Lloyds mat...it has connectors that attach to the seat frame.
  21. Yes it can be done...do you have access to a service manual?
  22. If I recall correctly, the typical areas to look are the harness connection (Open the rear lid and look for a connector that takes the wires from the right rear fender to the rear lid. Inspect the connector looking for corrosion or damaged wires.), hydraulics (you may need to refill the fluid....do a search), fuse (if the spoiler does not actually work) or motor....
